At the moment the overwhelming majority of 1 of the 2 major parties believe the current president is illegitimate. This is a fact not hyperbole.IMHO, only by extremely biased 'historians' in the very near future.
We always think right now is some sort of new high or low in almost all things. We have had many presidents and many very, very bad ones.
At the moment the presumptive nominee for one of the 2 major parties is claiming the current president is illegitimate. Not hyperbole.
At the moment in states across the nation steps are being taken that not just have the de facto effect of restricting voting access but that take the process of certifying elections out of the hands of bipartisan and neutral election committees and in to the hands of partisan state Houses. Not hyperbole.
I don't think that stating these developments are extremely serious is hyperbole in the least.
I personally don't think you need to be smart to realise that claiming your opponent is cheating and taking active steps from a single party to be able to simply prevent access to voting and creating ways to disregard actual votes if you don't like the results, points to anything but a desire to circumvent the Democratic process.
A Democratic process that already is skewed because of Gerrymandering, the electoral college, and a system that allows for votes cast in some States to carry more weight in terms of political power than others.
