Hobby Lobby Raises Minimum Wage to $14 for Full-Time Employees

Does their insurance pay for boner pills? I'll bet it does. Boner pills, YES. Woman's stuff, NO.
My goodness, you morons sure do seem proud of the fact that you haven't read the decision.

Does their insurance pay for boner pills? One word answer to this. Yes or No.
Don't know. Don't care. But it does pay for 16 other types of contraception.

It's funny the way you think you have a point.

No, the 'belief' that is destroyed is the one that conservatives have been spewing that these sorts of retailers couldn't possibly raise the minimum wage without having to either do massive layoffs or even go out of business.

Hobby Lobby proves that WE are right, not you.

Your way is forced, our way is free market, which each company can choose when they can afford to do it.
Forcing them when they can't afford to do it lays people off or puts them out of business.

So I guess someone else was in your account when you said this:

You people make it too easy.

Your link does not work. Thank you for fixing it.

When it's forced yes it does happen. Some do have to raise the prices on their products.
When sales in companies are good they can afford to raise their minimum wages without raising the price of products.

How quickly they try to change their tune.
Same tune. Free market.

You're DESPERATE to find some progressive good in this defeat.

And your desperation is amusing.

Number 8, the rhythm method.:lol::lol:
Stupid progressive. A couple deciding for themselves when to have sex does not have to be underwritten by the taxpayer.

Although given just a small amount of time, you retards will demand the government provide free rhythm method.

Wait... I thought raised salaries means that the store will have to raise it's prices.

Isn't that what you guys say will happen if McDonald's has to pay it's workers more? $20 Big Macs, and so on?

Does this mean that Hobby Lobby will raise the prices on their shitty Chinese merchandise?

Since they raised their wages last year, the prices have already been adjusted.

From last year:

Hobby Lobby Raises Minimum Wage to $14 for Full-Time Employees
BY LEONARDO BLAIR , CP REPORTER
April 18, 2013|5:29 pm

Arts and crafts giant Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. announced on Monday that effective immediately, the minimum wage for its full-time hourly employees at its stores and affiliate Hemisphere was increased to $14. The hourly wage for part-time employees was also increased to $9.50.

In a report on Thursday, founder and CEO of the company David Green said the decision was simply an acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication of his employees.

"We are very fortunate to be able to increase hourly wages for our employees, because we know our company would not be successful without the great work they do each day in our stores across the nation," said Green.

"We know that if we reward our employees for their hard work, we will be rewarded in turn with their loyalty and dedication to their job and to our customers," he added.

Hobby lobby, one of America's largest privately owned companies headquartered in Oklahoma City, Okla., employs 22,000 workers in 525 stores nationwide. This is the fifth successive year the company has increased wages for hourly paid full-time workers and the fourth for those working part-time. In 2012, full-time workers were paid $13 per hour while part-time workers earned $9. Full-time employees at Hobby Lobby and its affiliate now earn nearly two times more than the national minimum wage set at $7.25 per hour.

"As a family-owned business, we want our employees to feel like they are part of a family," said Green. "This is one way we can show our appreciation for their work and make them feel like part of a team."

More power to private enterprise! If the company thinks it is in their best interest so be it!
But please don't buy this across the board Federal one size fits all minimum wage of $10.80!
If a state wants or local then so be it!!! Each situation is different then a blanket one size fits all federal approach!
Hurrah for Hobby Lobby and any other business!

The biggest problem with the federal minimum wage is that it in no way takes cost of living into account. The difference in cost of living from rural Mississippi to New York City is substantial. A person making $8.00 per hour in Mississippi will be much better off than a person in NYC,

Actually now they'll only be able to afford to have one person working at each Hobby Lobby store.

Your idiocy is boring. Do you wish to deny that there has been a constant conservative drumbeat that such increases in wages would INEVITABLY lead to layoffs and inflation?

What's the defeat? Americans in the working class getting better wages and conservatives looking stupid all in one fell swoop. I couldn't be happier.

Stop daving, dave.
No, seriously, dood. Everybody knows.

Just say this, and you'll feel a lot better: "I'm Sallow, and I'm a fucking dumbass."

Well Dave..since you insist on Daving..

If you think Hobby Lobby is a sweet place to work..

Maybe it's time to give up that gubmint job..and work in the private sector for a bit.

Get your application ready..boyo.

They do except insects with no emotion.

Like you Davey.

:D

lol, yes daveman, the Ron Swanson of USMB. Works for the government; hates the government.

Clearly this is a war on women. They will have the freedom to take home that additional pay and spend it as they see fit.

Bastards!

Wah ... wah ... waaaah.
Think about this , ya whiny fuktard: Without boner pills women don't need stuff. In fact, they don't even need men.

The family is making a mint off of Michael's, Joanne's and local business cheap imitations; if you want Made in China flags, and flimsy Christmas decorations, Junk Warehouse is the place to go. Sam's is cheaper, but quality means little next to religious music and HARD SELL.

WalMart has an actual garden department for those who dare try genuine flowers, and "wood" made from trees, Junk Warehouse has a good ad gimmick, everything is 50% off every other week, there are thousands born everyday, and JW to take them.

Hobby Lobby opened a store here this past year, several people that I know who worked in Retail went to apply there, because full time jobs in retail starting at $14 are hard to come by in Maine....but Hobby Lobby ONLY was hiring for part time positions, there were no full time positions that they were hiring for....

so one of the people that did get hired part time who interviewed there, was hired at less than $10 an hour, but she is hoping that Hobby Lobby will be picking the best of the best part timers to move up to full time once they prove themselves, and she's hoping to be one of them..... but that's just a hope....who knows?

Which was the point of a 40 page discussion about the min wage. Once peeps establish their productivity and their skills, they can leverage their experience to earn the bigger bucks ... either with that company or with another. First you learn, then you earn. That's why we call 'em entry-level jobs.
