Nope I’m not going cast friends aside or cut off family members because we have no different political views. If a friend decides to do that to me then they were never much of a friend to being with same with a family member if you do that then family never meant much to you.

I have both former friends and relatives who have shut me out because of my support for Trump and my total revulsion with the political Left. I have divorced my sister over the same issue, and have no regrets. I also have a few friends with whom I disagree but we do not talk politics when together.

I can't say I'm sad about any of it. Being a Leftist today is more than just affiliation with a political party. It is embracing biological absurdities, patronizing the mutilation of children, rejecting MERIT as a legitimate form of evaluation, supporting murder-in-the-womb...I could go on. I would never distance myself from a friend or family member over politics. My family is almost all democrats, and I leave them alone about it. It's entirely their choice.

My closest friend was a lifelong democrat and we never let it get in the way of our friendship. I always told her that she was a natural conservative, she just didn't realize it. She switched over in 2016 and hasn't looked back. Now she's more hardcore conservative than me, lol.

Her closest female friend dumped her this year in a hissy fit because she had the temerity to ask her why she supported Harris. 30+ years of practically being sisters, I hope they can mend their relationship.
