During covid, one common form of virtue signaling for people was to indicate their zeal for destroying small businesses. No matter how many times I tried to explain to people that by doing so, they wanted to destroy ME, they kept up the self-centered dogma. It was more important for them to look good for others than understand that they were intentionally hurting the little guy so the likes of Jeff Bezos would benefit.

I have both former friends and relatives who have shut me out because of my support for Trump and my total revulsion with the political Left. I have divorced my sister over the same issue, and have no regrets. I also have a few friends with whom I disagree but we do not talk politics when together.

I can't say I'm sad about any of it. Being a Leftist today is more than just affiliation with a political party. It is embracing biological absurdities, patronizing the mutilation of children, rejecting MERIT as a legitimate form of evaluation, supporting murder-in-the-womb...I could go on. Nope. In person I keep politics out of most conversations unless brought up by someone else, and even then, I try to keep thing civil.

Here is my philosophy: if a political discussion gets heated, I will steer the conversation away from politics; if I know the individual is boisterous supporter of let’s say Trump I will say nothing and let them speak on and on.

It all depends on the individual really. There are people on this forum I would never speak politics with if I met them because I know they would go off the deep end. Let them ramble.

Other than that I see no reason to lose long time friends or family members over politics.

Watching young women go off the deep end due to the propaganda that affected their personalities is planned from the elites. Politics should be part of your life at that age. Not just overwhelmingly so. Instead, Progs have indoctrinated them. The ones we see who act out like children and are dangerous as they vote to end western civilization.
