No upgrades, pretty sure that’s how they’ve always worked. I don’t believe your claims about how they aren’t postmarked. That’s not true. Ballots all should get postmarked when they’re received. There’s been some isolated episodes of them not getting postmarked which is a concern of the electoral commission. You forgot to list the conditions in which a ballot would be allowed to be counted 17 days after Election Day.Let’s go to the actual bill:From what I’ve read, California is only sending ballots to active voters. Not all registered voters are getting ballots. That makes two of us.Experienced people? I assume they can get volunteers just like at polling places.A few, but again, it wasn’t during an election.Yes but not while they’re opening mail in ballots.Who said they have just a few clears in an office? Why not? They already do when I vote in person and that’s a much bigger influx of people.Didn’t the former tenants change their registration? They still need signature matches. Doesn’t seem like a crime the average Joe is going to commit just because they get someone else’s application. That’s a lot of jail time for very little benefit.Fantastic article, thank you.Which states are scrapping the request requirement?Mail in ballots require requests in most states, which is contrary to what he claimed, otherwise known as a lie. Why would he all of a sudden have a problem with the remaining 5 states who have been doing mail voting for years?Politifact slipped in the magic word "requested" to do a false comparison. There are (3) types of mail-in ballots:In Florida, for instance, where Trump is registered to vote, the term "absentee" isn't even in the law. They're all call vote-at-home" and everyone can vote by mail even if they live in a different state.
Trump lied about the reason for him voting by mail being that he's in DC. The reason is because everyone in Florida can vote by mail if they wish.
Trump also lied about "absentee" ballots being processed differently and more safely than "mail" ballots.
It's all the same shit.
.In 2016, for instance, the Florida Legislature unanimously voted to change the phrase "absentee" to "vote-by-mail," in order to ease confusion among voters who mistakenly believed that they had to be away from home to request a ballot by mail. Some election advocates now use the term "vote at home," because ballots in some states can be dropped off in person at designated lockboxes rather than mailed.
So when Trump says he’s an absentee voter in Florida because he’s "at the White House," that’s not accurate. It doesn’t matter where he is; Trump, like any other registered Florida voter, can cast a ballot without going to an in-person site.
1. No request needed, the state send out ballots to all registered voters
CO, HI, OR, UT WA
2. Voters request ballots but no excuse for absentee voting is needed:
(the other 28 states)
3. Voters request mail-in ballots AND an excuse IS NEEDED:
AL, AR, CT, DE, IN, KY, LA, MA, MI, MO, NH, NY, RI, SC, TN, TX, WV
Here’s where your state stands on mail-in voting
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to grip the country, more states have embraced mail-in voting as a way to prevent large crowds from gathering at polling places. The Centers for Disease C…thehill.com
The fact is, many States are scrapping the request requirement using Covid as an excuse. If you can safely stand in line at the grocery store, you can stand in line at the polls.
.
CA is sending ballots to all registered voters, GA is sending ballot requests to all registered voters and the list goes on. Here's a link that describes procedures in each State. The commies in TX sued to get ballots sent to all registered voters and lost in court, absentee ballots will have to be requested.

California is legit.
Sending applications is miles different than sending ballots because you still have to apply to get the ballot.
The lawsuit in Texas wasn’t about sending ballots, it was whether the “illness or disability” restriction to vote absentee applied to people not wanting to get COVID. The court’s reply was “not exactly by maybe, we will let you decide” oh and if you decide wrong you may go to jail.
So what's to stop people who just moved into a house from completing applications for the former resident?
.
Do you really think clerks processing 10s of thousands of requests will be checking signatures that close? And folks are prosecuted virtually every election, mailing ballot applications to everyone, just presents the opportunity, some won't pass it up. The question is, how many will get away with it long enough for the fraudulent vote to be counted?
.
Don't know what State you're in, but when I vote in TX, the only thing they check is my ID, I sign, but they don't even look at it. But your trying to draw a false equivalency between hundreds of poll workers checking vs. a few clerks in an office is duly noted.
.
I do, have you ever been to your local registrars office?
.
How many clerks were there?
.
Oh, ok, so you think experienced people magically appear during an election?
.
Yeah, you know what happens when you "assume"
..
LOL
.
Fact is neither of us really know the precise process. A place like Texas has limited absentee so it’ll be totally different than a place like Florida. I searched, but found no definitive information.
I do know some States are still trying to make changes 3 months from the election ala CA. Like I said earlier, LA county has 112% of eligible voters registered. And they made ballot harvesting legal. What could possibly go wrong at all levels, but specifically at the congressional level.
.
It’s not like Trump has a snowball’s chance in hell in California anyway.
From the link I provided earlier:
California: California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced in May that the state would be sending mail-in ballots to every registered voter in the state, a decision that’s been challenged by the state’s Republican Party.
.
(j) Consistent with paragraph (2) of subdivision (a) of Section 2226 of the Elections Code, and with the longstanding interpretation by state and local elections officials of Sections 4000 to 4108, inclusive, of the Elections Code governing the conduct of all-mailed ballot elections and of Section 3005 of the Elections Code governing mailed ballot precincts, nothing in this act is intended, and shall not be construed, to mean that a voter with an inactive voter registration status shall receive a vote by mail ballot for the November 3, 2020, statewide general election.
Holes, so many holes. From your link:
This bill would require county elections officials to mail a ballot to every registered voter for the November 3, 2020, statewide general election
<<snip>>
Existing law requires the Secretary of State to establish, by January 1, 2020, a system that a county elections official may use to allow a voter to track the voter’s vote by mail ballot through the mail system and processing by the county elections official. County elections officials are not required to use the system, however.
<<snip>>
(d) Notwithstanding subdivisions (a) and (b), for the statewide general election to be held on November 3, 2020, any vote by mail ballot cast under this division shall be timely cast if it is received by the voter’s elections official via the United States Postal Service or a bona fide private mail delivery company by the 17th day after election day and either of the following is satisfied:
17 days for ballot harvesting, like I said, what could possibly go wrong?
.
Ballot harvesting isn’t one.
Yeah, care to guess how man ballots will magically appear in various post offices across the State on day 15? Especially in areas where there are close elections for congress.
.
Without a postmark?
Only envelopes with stamps get postmarks, postage paid don't.
.
Oh right, like the postal processing machines will be upgraded to know the difference. Think the Al Franken election on steroids.
.
Well child, check your mail and see how many post paid pieces (ie no stamp) have a postmark.
