When God has face name and personality thats literally an idol that people can understand. The god of the Jews was abstract. People were already accustomed to worship idols.
There is no mention of original sin in Genesis. Therefore no reason for Jesus to exist

The eating of the fruit is the moral teaching of mankind by god. God intended them to eat the fruit all along thats how they learned morals.
What followed is called the trial for mans freedom. Adam eventually did admit he ate the fruit proving he has learned moral values.
Before they ate the fruit they couldnt know what a sin was. Therefore cant commit one.
Since it was Gods plan all along they eat the fruit obeying Gods plan cant be a sin
You may also notice the tree is created to be attractive in the first place to attract them.

Ill simplify it for you. If you want to teach a child to be honest. Put a cookie next to him and tell him not to eat it. Leave the room. Come back and the cookie is gone and its all over the childs face. Did you eat that cookie. The child says no. Now the lesson begins

Genesis is the moral reaching of man and the trial for mans freedom. By choice not forced obedience.

That means there was never a reason for Jesus to exist as god.

Christians distorted nothing. After Christ, did Jews and Christians take on different perspectives of the same story? It appears those perspectives were there all along, but after Jesus, people did put greater emphasis on the part(s) that favor their own beliefs. Human nature. Perspectives differ. Christians did not create demons. Those were already well-known, and synonyms (such as devil, Lucifer, Satan) started being used. Satan comes from the Jewish ha Satan, meaning the Tempter. In Christianity, we see him tempting Jesus.

Take any story, any account. When different perspectives of that story are presented, does the rest of the class throw a tantrum, claiming that different perspective is a distortion? I have no problem with your perspective, possibly because all my life--in all aspects of my life--I find the many perspectives fascinating. One might say I am a collector, not of stamps or coins, but of perspectives.

No one should be so narrow-minded of his/her own perspective.

The New Testament, Jesus, and all accounts have their roots deeply in Hebrew history/scripture. No one has stolen a thing. You may not like how this particular root sprouted, you might be fiercely determined to dig it up and exterminate that part of history--but nothing was stolen. Christianity grew straight out of Judaism, and my belief is that both shoots are growing straight up to God.
