First, Satan's specialty is to lead humans to ideals which are not achievable by humans. This the one fold meaning of how humans are tempted to the Tree of Knowledge.
Second, among the thousands of civilizations/nations ever existed on the surface of Earth only the Chinese and the Jews have a rather complete set of history, all other histories are either broken or non-exist. Both the Chinese and Jewish histories are canonized for a reason (humans never know its significance though). If there's no canonization there's no Chinese history at all.
The Chinese claim to have a history of 5000 years, yet the first 2500 years of history was written by a single person who never set foot outside of the palace. It's like you sitting home to write a history of 2500 before you. This however already represents the maximum capability of humankind in terms of preserving history. Your opinions, whatever they are, from the historical point of view are nothing more than a joke (you may need to give thanks to the devil for such a joke).
To build a Heaven which is an eternity, there's only one issue needs to be seriously dealt with. It's the influence between the high intelligence angels and the low intelligence humans (yeah, you don't even know how history works). Eden demonstrates where the issue is (Adam and Eve fell as a result). Earth is to provide a solution. At first, as it's in Eden, all mankind fall captive and have no hope to pass the Judgment of Law (an assessment of enter Heaven), and should have been destroyed as a whole with the Flood.
Jesus saves the situation by promising a one-time self-sacrifice. Humans are now first judged by a Judgment of Covenant (before the Judgment of Law kicks in). At the end, Earth is like an examination hall where Faith is to be assessed. Faith and repentance are to assess if a human is correctable after all sinned (to their death, which is no one can pass the Judgment of Law as said, "no one is righteous not even one).
To serve this purpose of assessing Faith, God hides Himself completely (invisible) to humans. He only partly shows up to His chosen eyewitnesses (at some point Israel as a whole can be deemed a witness), and for the rest of humankind to believe with Faith. Actually, it makes not much difference for you to believe your favorite news channel such as Fox News or CNN. Christianity is God's CNN (Judaism is a half-built Fox News but failed). It goes through the process of gathering news pieces (usually from eyewitnesses), verifying that it's not fake news, then broadcasting it to all the states of America (in a US-facing manner).
By the same token, the Jews gathered the new pieces from the OT prophets, but they failed on the Jesus story and was abandoned (their authentication was removed along with the fall of the Second Temple). Christianity picked up from where the Jews left off to gather Jesus' story and broadcast it as the "good news" to all the nations on Earth (in a human-facing manner).
In a nutshell, Faith is all about the most efficient way but with maximum human capability (not the ideal Satan gave you) to convey a truth. As mentioned about, in the case that the US government has a crucial message for all its citizens what should it do? The only viable and efficient way is to broadcast the message through the US-facing media such as Fox News and CNN. God broadcasts His own news through His own chosen channel which is Christianity.
As said, the god of this world has blinded the minds of men that when they examine the Jewish history they employ a fabricated imaginary ideal instead of the maximum capability of humankind as the standard. That's exactly how humans are tempted to the Tree of Know to see their own doom, just as put, "the same you eat of it (to get the ideal) the same day you shall surely die!"

You're not aware that the Gospel accounts of Jesus Christ--and the entire NT--is historical? You're aware that most history of antiquity is not that well-documented, right?

Naturally, you want to blame the guy who's giving plenty of warning. All they had to do was get on the boat. You're tubing down the Niagara River on a warm summer's day. You notice the current seems to be getting stronger but pay no attention because you're having so much fun. A guy on the shore is throwing a rope at you and yelling that there is a waterfall ahead. Who's to blame when you go over the falls, the guy who warned you and gave you a way to avoid death or yourself for ignoring the warnings?
