Zone1 Another question to ponder.

What proof are you expecting to find?
Undeniable proof.
Though, I'm jealous of those with blind faith. Another word for hope?
I've always said pretending to believe, "just in case", is lying to yourself, and if he's real, to him. But hoping he's real, maybe that is different?

Undeniable proof.
OK, what exactly would you accept? You need to tell me exactly what proof you would accept so I don't waste my time with anything else. And if you can't tell me exactly what you would accept, then shut the **** up. Because your cry for proof is a lie. There is no proof you will accept because you can't even provide an example of what that proof would look like.

Let me save you some time because you are over thinking it. As long as you believe the Creator is providential, moralistic and wants to have a relationship with you, the benefits of belief far outweigh the benefits of non-belief. It's not even close. And this is true regardless of whether or not God exists. The benefit of faith is real. It gives purpose and meaning to existence. It gives meaning to sacrifices. It gives meaning to relationships. God is a relationship. The better your relationship is with God, the better all of your relationships in life will be.

So god sent jesus (himself) to save us from himself. He did that so he could forgive sins. Atonement.
Why didnt he do that, instead of the flood? Why did he kill the entire planet and almost all the animals, when he could have just sent jesus earlier? Did the omniscient one just not think of jesus yet? Or is he just a freaking psychopath?
This is just another pondering that leaves me in the "WTF" category.
Just because Jesus was sent to earth in the Meridian of Time does not mean that his atoning sacrifice did not apply to all mankind since the beginning when Adam and Eve were placed on the earth and fell. What you fail to understand is that the purpose of this life is for mankind to learn good from evil and learn to choose good over evil. God's forgiveness is unto those who learn good over evil and repent of their evil ways and become good beings. Those who love evil more than good will be subject to the judgment of God and will face losing their position in the after life of being accepted into the kingdom of heaven. We will all be judged according to our works here upon the earth. Those who have learned to choose good over evil will those who will find themselves in the kingdom of heaven hereafter. Those who hold onto wickedness and evil and repent not of their evil deeds are those who will not be accepted into God's kingdom. The people of the days of Noah became so wicked that God knew that they would never repent. For God to reestablish righteousness on the earth, He ended the lives of the wicked and started over. Their purpose upon the earth had come to an end.

Genesis 6:5-7, 11-13
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

But God is merciful in that he grants all mankind, both the righteous and the wicked with immortality and all will rise in the resurrection and become immortal. But God will not allow the wicked to corrupt his kingdom and thus they go to a lower kingdom.

I don't know.

Yeah, but that doesn't make it true. And maybe I'm overthinking it.

Then stop acting like you are looking for evidence. Because you aren't. There is literally no evidence you would accept.

Doesn't matter if it is true. The benefit is the same.
Proof. why perform miracles 2,000 years ago and now require us to take the word of a book?

but having blind faith would relieve me of some stress.

If i knew of one then I wouldn't need you to do so. How about the apocalypse.
It's not my job to convince you. Repeat after me... there is no evidence slyhunter will accept.

What about the apocalypse? Are you frightened by it or something? Does it keep you up at night?

Have you all heard the theory that the Black Sea was a waterless depression until the ocean broke through and filled it up - and that's the source of all the stories?
That's a good theory. So is the Burkle meteor. But the important thing to know about the flood account in the bible is that the people of that day crafted narratives of historical events to teach lessons about the covenant, obedience, justice and Israel's special relationship to God.

OK

The problem with this is that you have no way of knowing it's not true, as it is not possible to prove a negative, either. Many have testified that belief brings about positive results.
We prove negatives all the time with negative correlations or using a null hypothesis in research.
The issue with God is that there is no evidence for any belief or non belief.
Agnostics simply dont know.
With the exception of Islam religion is mostly positive

Consider there may be a negative to relying solely on intellect in the quest of seeking and finding God. The intellect only focuses on objective/physical truths and is therefore its own trap because it prevents thinking that searches beyond the purely physical aspects of our life, world, universe.
