Is Jesus the kind of guy who would send a "rich man" to burn, even temporarily? That's up to Jesus but they won't remain there forever.
I've cited 50+ verses while you have cited your own personal theology.
Do you belong to a denomination?
Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Is it possible that some biblical stories are true, but others are completely made up? Like, are we going to take Jonah and the whale seriously?I don'tbelieve so.
The "Lake of Fire" is a used in the Bible as a metaphor to describe a metallurgist's crucible, which is essentially a bowl used for refining metals. I believe that the LOF is more a process than a destination. The Bible doesn't explain what occurs there but we can surmise that it is a process of refinement and restoration. It may also be described as a "chastening", meaning punishment but punishment for the purpose of correction. It is done for the BENEFIT of the truly wicked so that they too can follow Jesus into God's Kingdom.
I beleive that "Jonah and the whale" was a made up story that people told children in ancient times. It was a story with a moral lesson, much like "Chicken Little" today. It was such a popular story that they decided to add it to the bible when they were sifting through THOUSANDS of stories and choosing which ones would make it in the book.I believe that the Bible is true and I can nearly prove it but that's for another thread.

Did he talk about a guy hanging out inside a whale? I mean, come on.I believe the story is true. Jesus cited Jonah during his ministry.
What is your take on the story of the foolish virgins? (Matthew 25:1-13). It does seem to be a warning that the time may come when it is too late to enter the Kingdom. From the Book of John. Does this sound like an entity that would punish someone FOREVER?
