The biggest box-office bomb, potentially in all of history. "Desert Warriors" -- a Saudi financed epic with a $150 MILLION budget had a total box office take of $735,000. That's not opening weekend, that's it's entire run domestic and international over its entire release. It opened in over 1,000 theaters in North America alone.

Filmed in 2022, it was scheduled for release in 2025 but was delayed until April 2026.

IMDB score of 4.1
Rotten Tomatoes critical score of 26%
That kind of bomb makes "Pluto Nash" look like a smash hit.

In hindsight, it's probably not a good idea for a country that didn't get its first movie theater until 2018 to sink MILLIONS into a big-budget Hollywood production

You only had one job. :laughing0301:

An African as head of the Middle Easterners? Isn't that like dividing by zero? During that time, Arabs were rounding up black Africans and selling them as slaves.

This movie does not compute.

To be fair, they were looking for a bankable Hollywood lead that was also a POC ...

Their choices were limited

Omar Sharif died, so did Jack Palance and Anthony Quin, so no other suitable actors around any more. Guess they couldn't get Antonio Bandera or Andy Garcia.

This guy could do an ugly Arab desert bandit pretty good:

He's actually been pretty good in several roles.
