Christ now reverts back to 'kingdom of heaven' parables. The first of these are found back in (Matt.13:1-52). And they reveal the nature of the 'mystery form of the Kingdom' on earth now that the King has been rejected.
But, (Matt. 24) has taken us all the way to Christ's 2nd Coming. And that 'mystery form of the Kingdom' is no more. For Christ is literally, and physically, returning in power and glory. (Matt. 24:31) He is setting up God's Kingdom on the earth with Him as the King. And He is ruling and reigning in Jerusalem with Israel as the leading nation upon the earth.
Again, that which is said here in (Matt. 25) is not speaking to the Church. The Church will return with Christ. But that which is said in (Matt. 25:1-13) pertains to Israel living during the time of the Tribulation, and more specifically at the return of their King.
Thus it begins: "Then shall the kingdom of heaven..." What 'then'? After the return of Christ. (Matt. 24:10) (Matt. 24:44) (Matt. 24:50)
Remember what Christ told the scribes, Pharisees, and hypocrites? "But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in." (Matt. 23:13 Those religious leaders of Israel in their denial of their King, shut Israel out of the 'Kingdom of Heaven'. They didn't go in and they affected the nation of Israel to the degree that it didn't go in.
But they were religious. They were good Jews. They loved Moses and the Law. But they didn't approve of God's Man, Jesus Christ, as their King. They didn't approve of God's Son. They didn't approve of God. But they were sure religious.
I realize that this parable of the 'Ten Virgins' is often used by Christians to teach that a Christian can lose his salvation. But, it teaches no such thing. As already said, the Church has already gone to heaven at the Rapture and has returned with Christ. Their judgement is passed, which was a judgement in Heaven of rewards. (1 Cor. 3:11-16)
Members of the Church entered the 'Kingdom' when each accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour. We who are the Church are already the Bride of Christ. We watch and wait for Christ to call us out of the earth at the Rapture. We don't look for the 2nd Coming of Christ to the earth. And this parable involves Christ's 2nd coming to earth and setting up the Kingdom.
