The Las Vegas Review/Journal is full of comments celebrating Dingy Harry stepping down. All are guessing his son, Rory, might be the one selected to run as his replacement.

I doubt it, it'll probably be Masto

She's the one he's official endorsed.

However, even if Gov Sandoval refuses to run for the seat - which is his current position - there are a number of GOP candidates who can handily beat her.

I don't know, Nevada has become pretty blue over the years.

I think the general trend here is for the Democrats to bank on the surge in female voters that support Hillary as first female president. That's why there's Kamala Harris, Donna Edwards, maybe Maggie Hassan, and now Cortez Masto all running for seats (not that it would matter in California or Maryland...)

The Dems are going to have a real hard time holding on to Old Hairy's Senate seat.
Many were expecting the RINO Governor Brian Sandoval to run against Reid. He is popular enough that the Donkeys couldn't get a serious candidate to run against him.
If Sandoval chooses to run, he will be very tough to beat.

As far as a Hillary creating a voter surge for the Democrat candidate, I wouldn't hitch my cart to that horse. She has some real image problems right now. The fact Obama's people are throwing her under the bus shows the old sow has many battles ahead of her.

Well, beside Sandoval, it appears there are several who could easily defeat Masto. Dr (BG) Hecht is one with an amazing record - IF he wants to run.

As far as Nevada being blue - not true outside of Vegas. Notice the state legislature is now dominated by the GOP.

Being from here, you know the tremendous amount of political clout he had over the casino industry and other business leaders state wide. Nobody dared to support his opponents out of fear of retribution, he got bus loads of culinary union workers (legal or not) to the polls, he even got the editor of the local newspaper fired.
That's all gone now.
