Should somebody need an ID to vote?

Well, some people might not like this opinion, but I really don't mind if some people don't vote because they aren't able to provide basic identification.

What kind of grown U.S citizen can't provide some form of basic identification? Should I really care whether or not a person like that expresses their opinion through voting? Is that a productive person whose opinion should be seen as valuable? I don't think so. I actually wouldn't mind if extremely ignorant and unproductive people voted less.
I don't care either way. It does not stop the types of voter fraud which occur. So it is a pointless exercise.

An example is Mitt Romney. He moved to Utah to run the olympics in Salt Lake. Only to claim he never moved out of Massachusetts, so he could run for governor there.
Are you saying he could or should vote in both places????

So you're in favor of blocking the GQP from voting?
Interesting.

Should somebody need an ID to vote?

ID's should only be required for those who wish to buy a porno mag or a fishing license....since we have 20-40 illegal wetbacks loose in this country why would we want to require ID's?

You claimed to know of the case yet you fail to provide any facts to yer opinion...

You'll note in your State, if you don't have any ID, you just write "NONE" and they'll assign you a number.

The courts weren't involved. This is an after election (after the USSC ended the counting) investigation.

So repeat after me, the number disenfranchised wasn't ZERO like you claimed.
Hmmmm......................all this lawless "disenfranchisement", and not a single court involved.

Sounds like you have no case, Dumbass.

Actually they never should have used drivers licenses for voter ID. If they want to require a particular ID to vote, they should make a national ID card to be used for national purposes like voting in federal elections, complying with federal firearms laws, etc.

A drivers license should identify who can legally drive
Social security cards, for those to collect social security.
There is no such thing as a national vote, Stupid.

There are 50 state elections for federal office.

The problem arises as Republicans move from ID to the standards of acceptable ID

Any discrepancy in name or address can be grounds for rejection
People in the cities and elderly people do not have drivers licenses and their form of ID is not acceptable
Governement issued driver's license, identification card, or military id....

School ID's don't count.

What forms of ID would those be?

Winner, winner Chicken Dinner!

An example of how Republicans use ID to block voting of those not in their constituency

Student IDs are not acceptable, but Hunting Licenses are

Which states accept a hunting license?

This is not the point. Voter id laws are being enacted because it is seen by those in government as a means to keep ppl from voting. That is their purpose and goal. Every legal citizen within a democracy needs to be allowed the basic right to vote without having to jump through hoops. You make it as easy as humanly possible. Making it as difficult as possible, which goes far beyond just requiring a form of id, is how some governments have moved to a more totalitarian state. Anyone who agrees simply has communist leanings.

Good case...

But you're a little late to the party:

From 2012:
I'm so tired of this topic. If either party is relying on those who can't muster enough chutzpa in 4 years to register to vote then get an acceptable ID, they deserve to lose. Simple; case closed.

That being said, 100% of this nonsense could be removed if the States just issued photographic copies of the voter registration cards.
