They beat themselves up with the never-ending exposure of their conspiracy-ridden fantasies--and yes, provide me with the occasional insight. The interest this thread provoked provides many clues as to where people here are at. It exposes the site's demographic and makes for an interesting conversation.It's just an article doofus....relax. But this October morning was “Trumpstock,” a small festival celebrating the president. The speakers included the local Republican congressman, Paul Gosar, and lesser-known conservative personalities. There was a fringe 2020 Senate candidate in Arizona who ran a website that published sexually explicit photos of women without their consent; a pro-Trump rapper whose lyrics include a racist slur aimed at Barack Obama; and a North Carolina activist who once said of Muslims, “I will kill every one of them before they get to me.”

To me it's like they divert us to trivial BS and keeps us from looking at what we need to really see.
Republicans have been doing this since Reagan and his "Welfare Queen" lies. Diverting the middle class from the amount of money he was funnelling to the wealthy, and that his much vaunted "robust economy" was purchased with huge deficits and public spending in the military sector, rather than by private industry growth.
Republicans have consistently sought election by denigrating Democrats as "communists", and currently "socialilsts". Their economic policies have exaserbated the gap between rich and poor, and resulted in two major crashes, one of which nearly took the down world economy. Trickle down is a fallacy, and tax cuts don't create jobs.
Republicans keep lying because if they told the truth, no one would vote for them. The bald truth is that the standard of living, health, and income of Americans are all declining. The scale has been utterly tipped in favour of the wealthy, and unless income levels for working Americans go up drastically, those things are not going to change.
I'm quite likely the least partisan person here....but I do take sides. I'm for the rule of law..and the equal protection of everyone's rights. All races and cultures. Many here set themselves against that..thus we come into conflict. I've posted many times about Putin's ongoing war against our country..the usual suspects/ they berate the very idea as they parrot the latest agitprop straight from Moscow.They rise to any bait....hell..they snap at the un-baited hook. I'd not give Putin too much credit..this conflict has been coming to a head for a long time now. The left has had an almost unbroken string of wins..culturally speaking--over the last 60 years...a backlash was inevitable. The demographic is shifting..and the Boomers are aging out. The Old Guard sees it all slipping away. But yet you share Putin's goal so sympatico.. His goal since he was KGB was to spew doubt about the American system and get even with us for contributing OUR interference to the fall of the Soviet Union when THEIR population was losing faith in their leadership...

I think we had a civil war..a cultural civil war..in the 60's and 70's. The Left won. Funny thing..is that the serious issues and positions of those times..would make one a moderate..in these! Civil rights...the woman's movement...Gay rights--all settled issues now...in law, anyway.

Trumpstock attendees say they are used to being denounced, another quality they feel they share with the president. It’s part of why they are protective of him, to the point that they refuse to acknowledge the possibility of a Trump loss in 2020.
Mark Villalta said he had been stockpiling firearms, in case Mr. Trump’s re-election is not successful.
“Nothing less than a civil war would happen,” Mr. Villalta said, his right hand reaching for a holstered handgun. “I don’t believe in violence, but I’ll do what I got to do.”

The Ukrainian Ambassador writing an op ed saying that the government of the Ukraine wasn't in favour of the guy promoting friendship with Russia is not "meddling". He didn't sneak around making thousands of FaceBook ads, pretending to be an American. Or promote lies about Trump or the people around him.
