i lived in california for 50 years.....many left wing policies have helped destroy that state over the last 30 years.....so left wing policies can be just as bad....

Ultimately a lot of those blue state people will just bring their ideals with them.
They want to live in better places but they won't want to conform. They are like a virus always spreading to a uninfected area only to infect it over time.

The blue states have a higher cost of living as they were the places people wanted to live, and more people equals a higher cost of living. One could argue they are a victim of their own success.
Ask the folks in Boise how they feel about the influx. some of the most insane RE prices in the country right now.

You do not think there is a reason more people want to live in NY City than in Hill City Kansas? Some people enjoy having more than 3 choice for dining out or being able to go to Broadway or the other 100,000 things to do.
We live as close to St Louis as we do due to the things in the city. Amazing food, theater, great sporting events, cultural activities and more.
People are/were flocking to Boise not due to some red vs blue thing but because of what the city had to offer along with the outdoor activities within a mile or two of the city
