Bernie Sanders Touts Marxist Economists

Yep, I never understood why any Republicans like him. The same goes for Lincoln, who was an outright tyrant and dictator.

Because you have no sense of history.

We could fill volumes with what you don't understand.

How would a "sense of history" change the fact that Lincoln wiped his ass on the Constitution and slaughtered 850,000 Americans?

In response to criticism of his financial proposals, the Bernie Sanders campaign posted a list of “economists and financial experts” who support his plans.

Left-wing websites describe it as a list of the “nation’s top economists”, but it includes financial planners, some with no degree in economics at all, an instructor at Chemeketa Community College, and PhD candidates, including Mohammad Moeini-Feizabadi, an Iranian PhD candidate studying Marxian Political Economy. Also present is Michael Meeropol, the son of the Stalinist atom bomb traitors.

...

The focus on Marxism is pervasive among many of the names on the Bernie Sanders economist list.

John Weeks is described as a Marxist who has called for the “nationalization of finance” so his appearance on the list is not terribly surprising. Weeks is a Sanders fan and wonders whether “his class-focused political message can realize the long term dream of American populist progressives.”

Antonio Callari is the author of “Marxism in the Postmodern Age: Confronting the New World Order,” Nancy Folbre has been described as a Marxist and Yavuz Yaşar is the author of “Teaching Macroeconomics by Bringing Marx into the Classroom.” Ilene Grabel appeared at Marxism Now, a forum sponsored by Rethinking Marxism, a publication to which many on the Sanders list had contributed.

...

Bernie Sanders supporters are told that they will only be getting the same style of Socialism that has failed in Western Europe, but it is disturbingly possible that they will instead be getting the style of Socialism that had to be violently overthrown in Eastern Europe.

Larry Sanders, the brother of Bernie who had a huge influence on his politics, said that his brother will “flex his muscles” and go big, no matter what Congress or even the Democratic Party might say. According to him, Bernie Sanders believes that “the cause of socialism” is more important than anything else. He also describes turning on Bernie to his studies of “Marx and Hegel” to “help him get started.”

A discerning reader may have noticed that many of the names on the list of economists are foreign. There is an extensive organization abroad aiding the Bernie Sanders campaign. It includes the “Corbynists,” the worst elements of the radical left in the UK, who are openly supportive of Islamic terrorism, hate America and Israel, and promote a radical Marxist economic program. They are considered well to the left even within Labour. Their support means that Bernie Sanders isn’t just too radical for the Democratic Party, but for many European Socialists.

Jobs programs do work -- they could save this country, and pay down the National debt with the increased tax revenue.

LOL!!!!! Yes we should keep spending to avoid bankruptcy! Thank you, Joe Biden.
We havehad 50 years of jobs programs. Every one a complete and total failure.

Why did Marx and the fifteen or so socialist organizations of that period dislike each other's socialism?
Why did the USSR drop so quickly, first Marx's socialism then Marx's communism?
Has any nation ever tried to make Marx work?
Why are so many nations, today, a mixture of socialism and capitalism as is the United States?
Why do Republicans still use Marx to describe socialism?

Why did Marx and the fifteen or so socialist organizations of that period dislike each other's socialism?

A lust for power.

Why did the USSR drop so quickly, first Marx's socialism then Marx's communism?

You don't know what the terms you use mean.

The NEP was a surrender on the dictatorship of the proletariat because it had spectacularly failed in St. Petersberg, leaving two-thirds of the people dead and the city in shambles.

as any nation ever tried to make Marx work?

Yes, the USSR, Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge, and China under Mao.

All failed.

Why are so many nations, today, a mixture of socialism and capitalism as is the United States?

They aren't.

You simply have no grasp of economics and spew ignorance you copied from the leftist hate site.

The welfare state is not socialism.

Why do Republicans still use Marx to describe socialism?

Because they are educated and know what they are talking about, unlike you.

If there are different types of socialism and Marx's Scientific never worked, why Marx's socialism, why not Fabian or Democratic? Or we could use Owens socialism as practiced in New Harmony Indiana. Must be at least twenty different types, and a number came closer to working than Marx's Scientific. Most know the answer to that, it is because Marx's socialism is used as a scare tactic in that it will lead to communism. Remember the tactics used against Social Security?

Americans are moving to Europe for free college degrees
Chelsea Workman went to Ohio State University because it was her cheapest option. But she still had to take out student loans and work to make ends meet.

By the middle of her sophomore year, she'd had enough. She dropped out and moved to Germany to finish her degree where college is free.

Hunter Newsome, from California, decided to go to college in Estonia rather than the University of California, Davis -- at the very last minute. He's saving more than $10,000 a year on tuition, and he'll earn a bachelor's degree in three years rather than four.
Good for these students.

And no appreciation for the German workers who were forced to give up a large percent of their income so others can have a free ride. I guess they don't matter. There is a reason why the left always thanks government. It's because they don't give a shit about the workers. They love the big government that stole from them to give to others. As long as you are a recipient, life is great. When the time comes that those who graduated from their free college get tagged to provide for others, they might change their tune. No one wants to pay college loans for their own education, but it's okay to pay way more the entire time you work to pay for others. Only a liberal thinks it makes sense to spend more in the long run and claim you got a deal.

You are a typical illiterate teabagger. Read the story before you make some stupid comment.
And by the way, the ones who fuck the workers over repeatedly are the conservative/teabagers.
Don't try giving progressives the problem that was created by the bottom feeder from wall street and the conservative/teabaggers that suck up to them.
Read the article.

Marx arose from the Fabians, you are making a distinction where there is none. Further, nothing is more democratic than Marxian Communism. The devastation in Petrograd was a result of democracy. Neighborhood Soviets voted on who needed what, such as food, shelter, and medical attention.

Slapping the word "democratic" on it neither legitimizes nor changes the nature of Socialism.

Communism would be an idyllic world, but like all nirvana's is a pipe dream. Socialism can function in small, tightly nit communities where there is a social and emotional responsibility among participants. A little girl sharing her popsickle with her sister is one thing, there is empathy and emotional connection. A man sharing his house with an indigent is a very different proposition. Socialism cannot scale because of the lack of commonality and community.

Marx legitimized what was a discredited belief, purely because he was educated and could present the ideas in a logical and scientific fashion. Marx is representative of Socialism because he was the most, not least, rational of socialist thought.

Back in 1910 a retired Republican president made a plea that Americans should not be afraid of the word "socialism" In fact, TR said that we should not be afraid to adopt certain principles of socialism, The former Republican president thought socialism part of the future.

TR was infected with the 'Progressive' virus.
It caused him to disrespect the Constitution, a symptom of that virus.

Well known is TR's outburst, when told the Constitution did not permit the confiscation of private property: "To hell with the Constitution when the people want coal!" Less well known is that at one point TR summoned General John M. Schofield, instructing him: "I bid you pay no heed to any other authority, no heed to a writ from a judge, or anything else except my commands." (p. 138) "33 Questions About American History You're Not Supposed to Ask," by Thomas E. Woods, Jr.

Guess which President had a terminal case of the disease?

Bread Lines for Bernie

After Bernie Sanders visited the Marxist Sandanista regime in Nicaragua on a propaganda tour, he argued that the bread lines in major cities were a good thing. “American journalists talk about how bad a country is, that people are lining up for food. That is a good thing!”

The bread lines had been caused by the radical regime’s socialist agricultural policies of land seizures from farmers. Those farmers who refused to be drawn into Soviet-style communal farms rebelled, along with Indian and Creole racial minorities, and became the core of the Contras, the heroic resistance fighters whose mass murders at the hands of Sandinista terrorists were cheered by American leftists.

What had been productive farmland vanished into a warren of newly invented government agencies run by leftist university graduates with no agricultural background obsessed with seizing land, but with no idea of how to run it. The remaining farmers were forced into grinding poverty by a government purchasing monopoly while the profits went not to their farms, but to the political class of the Sandanistas who lived in luxury while farmers fled and city workers waited on bread lines.

Think of them as the Bernie Bros of Nicaragua. Except they wore khaki fatigues, not pajamas. And instead of angrily tweeting, they marched their victims into churches and set them on fire.

The unfortunates that the Democratic Party’s aspiring top Socialist saw lining up for bread were the victims of a regime that had destroyed the country through socialist thievery. And he learned absolutely nothing from the experience. Just as the Sandinistas had learned nothing from the Soviet Union and Venezuela’s Socialists learned nothing from the Sandinistas so that once again today crowds wait for bread, milk and toilet paper in an oil-rich country that has run out of everything except Socialists.

“You don’t necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants when children are hungry in this country,” Sanders sneered last year.

But it’s the scarcity that the smelly Socialist is shoving at Americans that leads to children going hungry. A choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants means a lot of jobs manufacturing, marketing, stocking and selling them. Those jobs, not Bernie’s self-righteous posturing, allow parents to feed their children.

Children aren’t going hungry in America because we have too many types of deodorant, but because too much of our manufacturing backbone was destroyed by leftist redistributionist policies.

Bernie Sanders’ plan is to double down on failure by adding $15 trillion in taxes. Tax hikes averaging $9,000 would gut the income of American workers and lower household after-tax income by 12 percent. The middle class would lose 8.5% of after-tax income to Bernie Sanders’ insatiable government greed.

...

Bernie Sanders has said that, “Democracy means public ownership of the major means of production”. He has touted support from Marxist economists and proposed redistribution of income as the answer to everything. An admirer of Cuba and the Sandinistas, he has learned nothing from their mistakes and proposes to destroy our economy just as his fellow Socialists destroyed theirs in Latin America.

Sanders supporters who feel the Bern dreaming of all the free stuff they will get might want to look at history and ask themselves whether they will end up standing on one of Bernie’s bread lines instead.

Forget #FeeltheBern, try #FeeltheBreadLine.

There's money in being a Socialist. If you're the one in charge of wealth redistribution. Or fleecing your foolish followers who do unpaid labor generating memes for you while you price summer homes.

The "Revolution" has been good to Bernie.

What is Bernie hiding?

When the FBI nails his wife and peels back the facade from the Sanders family finances, we might finally find out what the revolution is really brought to you by. (Hint: It's money.)

When Bernie Sanders first came to Vermont, he bought a shack with a dirt floor with unemployment money. Last year, Bernie joined the company of Vermont’s 1% and bought his third home.

The money that Bernie used his way to break the $1 million mark and buy his way into the 1% came from the $27 donors he touted during his campaign. Other campaigns were funded by billionaires. But the folks paying for Bernie’s private Delta 767 with its menu of herb crusted lamb loin, chocolate ganache, fine cheeses and white wine were ordinary people who would never be allowed to fly on it.

Bernie could live large on their donations, but he couldn’t directly pocket their money. Not unless he figured out how to sell them something of his own. And that’s how Bernie joined the 1%.

Our Revolution, Bernie’s book, which was also the name of his new organization, sold for $27. According to Bernie, that was the average size of his donations. The actual number was $86, but truth and Bernie have always had only the loosest of relationships. And Bernie supporters were no longer giving $27 to subsidize a campaign, a cause, Bernie’s jet and his consultants, but his wallet and his summer home.

$15 AN HOUR COST WORKER PAYCHECKS $125 A MONTH

Every serious economist warned that this social justice gimmick would have exactly the result that it did. And you know that the left's response to this will be to double now.

Left-wing policies can never have bad results. It's always the fault of sabotage, subversion and someone else. Just ask Venezuela or the USSR. Or the low wage workers of Seattle.

...

Again, this was entirely predictable.

The simple concept that the left refuses to grasp is that society is not a static Rubik's Cube where you can solve the puzzle by making every square red. It's a series of dynamic responses to conditions.

The economy is a network of responses in which each grid affects the others and causes them to react in ways that serve their own interests. If you raise the minimum wage to $15, jobs and hours will be cut to compensate. There was nothing surprising about this except to the left which has decided that reality is an inconvenient truth.

Aggressive minimum hikes have closed some businesses, pushed others toward automation and pushed still others into more basic cost reductions. As always some workers win, but others lose.
