In response to criticism of his financial proposals, the Bernie Sanders campaign posted a list of “economists and financial experts” who support his plans.

Left-wing websites describe it as a list of the “nation’s top economists”, but it includes financial planners, some with no degree in economics at all, an instructor at Chemeketa Community College, and PhD candidates, including Mohammad Moeini-Feizabadi, an Iranian PhD candidate studying Marxian Political Economy. Also present is Michael Meeropol, the son of the Stalinist atom bomb traitors.

...

The focus on Marxism is pervasive among many of the names on the Bernie Sanders economist list.

John Weeks is described as a Marxist who has called for the “nationalization of finance” so his appearance on the list is not terribly surprising. Weeks is a Sanders fan and wonders whether “his class-focused political message can realize the long term dream of American populist progressives.”

Antonio Callari is the author of “Marxism in the Postmodern Age: Confronting the New World Order,” Nancy Folbre has been described as a Marxist and Yavuz Yaşar is the author of “Teaching Macroeconomics by Bringing Marx into the Classroom.” Ilene Grabel appeared at Marxism Now, a forum sponsored by Rethinking Marxism, a publication to which many on the Sanders list had contributed.

...

Bernie Sanders supporters are told that they will only be getting the same style of Socialism that has failed in Western Europe, but it is disturbingly possible that they will instead be getting the style of Socialism that had to be violently overthrown in Eastern Europe.

Larry Sanders, the brother of Bernie who had a huge influence on his politics, said that his brother will “flex his muscles” and go big, no matter what Congress or even the Democratic Party might say. According to him, Bernie Sanders believes that “the cause of socialism” is more important than anything else. He also describes turning on Bernie to his studies of “Marx and Hegel” to “help him get started.”

A discerning reader may have noticed that many of the names on the list of economists are foreign. There is an extensive organization abroad aiding the Bernie Sanders campaign. It includes the “Corbynists,” the worst elements of the radical left in the UK, who are openly supportive of Islamic terrorism, hate America and Israel, and promote a radical Marxist economic program. They are considered well to the left even within Labour. Their support means that Bernie Sanders isn’t just too radical for the Democratic Party, but for many European Socialists.

Of course, he holds himself out as a Democratic socialist simply because that is easier for some people to accept. People with radical ideas can never be totally honest.

It's laughable that Sander's supporters say he is open and honest about his plans. He's full of shit and offering up promises and ways to pay for them that don't pan out.

Here is a video of a Sander's super delegate. She is looking forward to the free shit, like everyone else. The reporter asks her why he should give up more in taxes so Bernie can give it to others and she insisted it's not like that. He asked her if it's moral to take more than half of people's earnings to give it to others and the woman didn't answer that. She just said it's immoral for a person working at Walmart to make so little. Of course, Obamacare is responsible for companies not allowing people to work more than 30 hours. If so many small businesses weren't killed by the Obama administration, no one with any education would have to settle for being a cashier at Walmart. But, minimum wage jobs are all that's left. With minimum wage hikes, the working hours decrease even more, if you get to keep your job. The Dems make policies that kill jobs, then blame the private sector for the lack of opportunities.

Of course, the woman did start out saying that wealth redistribution is the plan yet claims that the reporter, who makes a high salary, won't have more money confiscated. Idiots. It is the middle class that will get hit and it will continue till it ceases to exist. Bernie plan, as proposed, will only work if the wealthy people will settle for keeping less of their money yet continue to put the same effort into making it. That won't happen. It never does. Socialism/Marxism/communism will not work this time. Those things fail every time. I think some people love the thought of wealthy people being turned into poor people. Misery loves company.

1. I no longer hold out any hope....
"A clear majority of Democrats believe socialism has a “positive impact on society,” according to a poll by the American Action Network (AAN).

A telephone poll of 1,000likely Democratic primary voters found that when capitalism and socialism were polled head to head, socialism won by 15 percentage points, with just 25 percent of respondents saying they favored capitalism.

In terms of definition, the poll made clear that socialism meant a greater role for government in the economy and substantial wealth redistribution, but the idea itself was not clearly defined by its traditional meaning as government ownership of the means of production, distribution and exchange.

Not only are Democrats far to the left of mainstream America on the question of socialism and health care but they are also largely suspicious of how the media covers hot button issues such as racial equality on campus.

More than two-thirds of those surveyed agreed with the statement “most of the media in our country is controlled by corporations who are more interested in profits than telling the truth. Before a corporate owned media entity covers a campus rally for racial equality, they should first prove that they are not biased against the content of the rally.”

That's incredible, the dumming down of our society...This is what we've come to in the United States of America...So sad:(

"Weeks" is a foreign name?

Thats why I never understood TR's appeal to conservatives. He was the prototype big government stinking Progressive.

Indeed. I see names like "Jeff Connaughton" on there. Very foreign sounding.

And "Geoff Schneider". Sounds...German. Watch out!

"Philip Pilkington". Holy shit, that's sounds like the villain in a melodrama!

"Hendrik Van den Berg". I think I just ate a sandwich with that name.

Chelsea Workman went to Ohio State University because it was her cheapest option. But she still had to take out student loans and work to make ends meet.
By the middle of her sophomore year, she'd had enough. She dropped out and moved to Germany to finish her degree where college is free.

Hunter Newsome, from California, decided to go to college in Estonia rather than the University of California, Davis -- at the very last minute. He's saving more than $10,000 a year on tuition, and he'll earn a bachelor's degree in three years rather than four.
Good for these students.

Republicans stuck Teddy into the Vice Presidency to shut him up and not let his ideas get a foothold. Then bingo McKinley gets himself shot and as boss Hanna said: "That damn cowboy is in the White House now."

What's your point? John Boehner would say the same thing.

Yep, I never understood why any Republicans like him. The same goes for Lincoln, who was an outright tyrant and dictator.

Well both Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt are the highest rated Republican presidents, but there is probably little chance of Republicans making those kind of mistakes today,

Matt Damon fan boy blows the "marxist" dog whistle.

Cut and paste propaganda.

Never mind the fact that economists on the list are nobel prize winners and teach at University of Chicago (a conservative econ and business program)

Jobs programs do work -- they could save this country, and pay down the National debt with the increased tax revenue.

One problem. The rich have to be willing to go back to Clinton era tax rates. Which would slow the markets down considerably. And fund managers are going to stop looking like money magicians. No more 10% returns for while. Rich won't like that either. But we'll make do.

The reason they were the highest rated is the fact that most history professors are little better than Stalinists. They like a big blowhard who runs roughshod over the Constitution.
