People who have never been aboard a Navy Ship operate under the idea it is like a cruise ship. It is big and has lots of cabins for the crew to use and enjoy. It is nothing of the sort.



This may give you a hint of what it is like. Sectioning off part of the ship to serve as quarantine quarters is virtually impossible. Every cubic foot is in use on the ship. Nothing. Not even a cubic inch is wasted.

No hot tubs?

Nope. No swimming pool either. In fact finding space and time for your Sunday Crap is impossible. Everywhere you go there are ten people elbow to elbow with you. But hey. You do get about eighteen inches to sleep in.

That you hot bunk with someone else.
