Thought For The Day by John Jaeger, MBA

The pervasive anti-religious bigotry of public schools and colleges extends to America’s libraries as well. When I learned of The Irrational Atheist by Vox Day, I went to my local library to check it out. They did not have it, nor did any library anywhere in America except for the Library of Congress, which loaned it to me.

What a searing indictment on the religious bigotry of our librarians who are well stocked with books by atheists ridiculing America’s Christian heritage and birthright.

Profound Fortuitous Interdependencies is a phrase I created for my book to describe wonders surrounding every person on earth. We take them for granted just because they are there and most people don't realize their brilliant creation.

The formula for starch is ( C₆H₁₀O₅)n
Cellulose has this same formula but in a straight chain, without coiling or branching.

The formula for glucose is C₆H₁₂O₆ .

Glycogen is a branched polymer of glucose where n can range from a few thousand to a hundred thousand. Glycogen is stored in our bodies and burned as energy.

The formula for sucrose, common sugar, is C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ .

These complex compounds are all carbohydrates, meaning composed of carbon (dioxide) and water - free in our atmosphere.

What can you make from water and air? Plants make the food that sustains almost every living creature - food that recycles itself, at no charge, using sunlight, also at no charge to us. Give thanks to the Brilliant Creator daily for His many Profound Fortuitous Interdependencies, made possible only by complex combinations of very different things and processes.

The most beautiful, emotion filled song you will hear in months:

"The Constitution shall never be construed... to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms." ---Samuel Adams

One often reads the phrase, "air holds water." This is nonsense.
The vapor pressure of water is independent of the amount of air as seen in this graph. Standard air pressure is 760 Torr (mm of mercury) which equals 14.7 psi.

The vapor pressure of water at 25 degrees is 23.8 Torr, whether there is no air in the container, or normal atmospheric pressure.
Water don't care about air!

Civilization and modern life as we know and enjoy them exist only because of the Profound Fortuitous Interdependencies surrounding and enabling us. One of those is communications. While ants, bees, and animals of all kinds communicate, they are not remotely in the same category as us humans. Only we have books, recordings and videos to pass on our limitless discoveries in perpetuity. Only we use radio waves and fiberoptics to convert and transmit sights, sounds and data anywhere in the world, almost instantaneously. Our ancestors two thousand, one thousand, even one hundred years ago could not possibly have imagined all the technology and accumulated knowledge we have today.

It stands to reason that we cannot possibly imagine the advanced technology and information awaiting us in our Creator's Realm. We will telepath with history's greatest and wisest effortlessly, as we do here on a coast-to-coast cell phone call.

My beloved wife always planned our vacations meticulously. It was her favorite pastime, I do believe, taking vacations in Europe. So on the Greek island of Santorini, toward sunset, she said, "Let's go down to the rocks and watch the sunset over the lagoon." Our two daughters, Erin and Teri, were 15 and 10 respectively. We were alone as we sat on the promontory watching the sun go down when two American boys, in their twenties, about fifteen feet from us, were talking very filthy language with their girlfriends.

I threw down quickly with the protective determination of a husband and father. "Either you two will shut that language up or else I will come over there and shut you up!" One replied, "Why are you listening to us?"
"Well it's pretty hard not to hear you when you're so close. Now if I have to come over there, I'm going to hurt you."

They shut up. It was easier for them to back down than for me to, because they were wrong. I was dead serious and ready to take them both on. More decent people need to stand up and teach lessons that are sorely needed.

Thereis overwhelming evidence that the higher the level of self-esteem,the more likely one will be to treat others with respect, kindness, and generosity.— Nathaniel Branden, Canadian Psychotherapist

So much for "science"

“Flight by machines heavier than air is unpractical and insignificant, if not utterly impossible.” - Simon Newcomb, 1902 (Astronomer, polymath, and Professor of Mathematics for US Navy, eighteen months before Kitty Hawk.)

Lots of snow and ice all across our northern states, and this means slick roads. You have all seen footage of cars and trucks locking up all wheels and skidding out of control. If they had thought in advance, "I will release my brakes so at least I will be able to steer," they could have minimized damage or eliminated it altogether. I did up on Big Bear Mountain, San Bernardino County, one winter. Instead of crunching into the back bumper of a late model Jaguar, II let off the brakes and steered into a large snowbank on the right shoulder. Zero damage to the family station wagon.

It is 2/6/26.

Next in this sequence is one year and one day away... 2/7/27
Followed by 2/8/28, 2/9/29 and that is the end for a thousand years!

I had some questions for AI and submitted them to ChatGPT.com.
Ever personable and polite, I had the smashing idea to submit the Preface of my book to ChatGPT. Four or five pages long, the tech wizard read it instantly and replied instantly with about two pages of brilliant, concise analysis and some criticism. You would have thought it came from a real person, highly educated and eminently polite. Then I sent it my first chapter of ten pages. Instant reading, instant three page response, equally brilliant. It is hard to believe any program can do what it did so quickly, so well.

Think back on what you have done in the past week to reach, teach and help as many people as possible with something useful and productive. Don't cite it here, just try to do more in the next few days.

Japan News

Dear Japanese Friends, many lives are lost and even more injuries are sustained due to drivers speeding up to beat traffic signals. If you are the first car in line at a red light, when the light turns green, look left to see if a car is coming. If not, look right and only if both ways are clear, do you proceed through the green light. You are not in that much of a hurry to risk your life and your family's. Teach this to your children.

What could be more important than saving lives?

After the 2020 presidential election, I emailed five large newspapers in Minneapolis, Phoenix, Atlanta, New York, and Maryland offering a $20,000 reward to the first person providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of person or persons depositing fraudulent election ballots. Not one newspaper would publish my letter offering a large reward.

So I then placed an advertisement in the Phoenix Craigs List with the same offer, paying $15 to publish it. It was cancelled minutes later and my $15 was returned.
