What was the first car you ever owned, and do you wish you still had it?

Brand new 1971 Mercury Comet when I was 17.

Still have the car, rusting away in the yard.

Back in high school we used to say that Plymouth and Mercury were introducing a hybrid based on the Valiant and the Comet. It was to be called the Vomit, with bucket seats and a throw up top.

1976 Datsun 210. 50 mpg, yeah, wish I still had it. Only down side, I had to search for it every day when I got out of school. The football team always picked it up and moved it.

When we got married she had a 72 B210, except it was yellow, and I had a beetle, both good on gas. That was probably the only reason we got through the gas embargo (even odd days, we had both) and the layoffs, and a 1-year-old.
