Democrats: What If the Next Attempt Succeeds?

Have any of you thought of that?

Just a few days after the third attempt on President Trump's life, Democrats backtrack, gaslight and play "whataboutism". These people aren't playing the long game. Think: what if the next attempt is successful?

We haven't had a president assassinated since John F. Kennedy Jr. It would stop the nation, and make President Trump an even more grandiose figure. It seems Democrats can not even begin to imagine it. Add to it that this is not the early 60s. Our political rhetoric is off the rails, and there's PLENTY of fodder for Americans to point fingers in the Democrats' direction.

Are there any Democrats that can look ahead and say, "well, no matter how much I hate Trump, this would be an unmitigated national and political disaster"? Or can't you get past your hatred of him?

I doubt assassination would make Trump a more likable figure. I also think it's far more likely he'll die in office from natural causes. The man is clearly on his last legs.

If he dies in office, he would likely be remembered like McKinley or Harding, whose flaws were not burnished by taking a dirt nap.

The Presidents who have died in office who are remembered fondly- Lincoln, FDR, and JFK- are remembered much more for what they did when they were alive than for how they died.

Now, if you want to talk about being robbed by an assassination, the greatest tragedy was the death of James Garfield. He had the potential to be one of the greats.

Many of us have not seen a sitting president assassinated in our lifetime. Think of what a big deal it is when a former president dies. Now imagine that for the sitting president of the US. The images of Vance being sworn in---aside from the loss of life (we know Dems don't care much about that when it comes to Trump), the visuals ALONE would be a disaster for them, esp if the idiot wrote a manifesto like this latest loser did.

I guess the Dems never think ahead to this.

So it Trump does get whacked by the next Crisis Actor in a fake assassination attempt, I would imagine that some conspiracy theories will soon claim the Couch-Lover had something to do with it.
