Thought For The Day by John Jaeger, MBA

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." - Helen Keller

“There are good reasons to believe in God, including the existence of mathematical principles and order in creation. They are positive reasons, based on knowledge, rather than default assumptions based on a temporary lack of knowledge.” —Geneticist Francis Collins, Nobel Laureate (Brilliant Creations - The Wonder of Nature and Life, page 84)

“We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population...." - Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood abortion clinics which murder unborn black infants at 3.8 times the rate of non-Hispanic whites, according to the CDC in 2016

“Anybody who has been seriously engaged in scientific work of any kind realizes that over the entrance to the gates of the temple of science are written the words: Ye must have faith. It is a quality which the scientist cannot dispense with.” – Max Planck, Nobel Laureate in Physics (Brilliant Creations - The Wonder of Nature and Life, page 22)

“Man, once surrendering his reason, has no remaining guard against absurdities the most monstrous*, and like a ship without rudder, is the sport of every wind. With such persons, gullibility, which they call faith, takes the helm from the hand of reason and the mind becomes a wreck.” —Thomas Jefferson (1822)

* Absurdities the most monstrous: e.g. aborting 1,000 innocent, unborn babies every day; celebrating homosexual perversion; grooming school children to this perversion; pretending to change a young person's sex; rioting and burning; derangement syndrome as years of corruption and incompetence are laid bare and corrected.....

"When a man ceases to believe in God, he doesn’t believe in nothing.
He believes in anything.” —G. K. Chesterton

Einstein stated, "I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own — a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty.

Atheist left refers to the group which frequently and maliciously attacks the religious right as ignorant Bible-thumpers. For example, Googling atheist left produces only 56,400 hits versus 1,470,000 hits for religious right. - Science of the Bible, by John Phillip Jaeger, page vi footnote

Democrat Senator John Fetterman said, "My party loses the high moral ground when we riot and burn ......"

Democrats have never had the high moral ground.

"The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." – Brandolini’s Law

"After years of being exposed to the American media in all its forms, I've concluded that conservatives resent being lied to nearly as much as liberals hate being told the truth." --columnist Burt Prelutsky

When I began my career as a cosmologist some twenty years ago, I was a convinced atheist. I never in my wildest dreams imagined that one day I would be writing a book purporting to show that the central claims of Judeo-Christian theology are in fact true, that these claims are straightforward deductions of the laws of physics as we now understand them. I have been forced into these conclusions by the inexorable logic of my own special branch of physics." (Frank J. Tipler)

15th post
I can think of nothing more satisfying than helping others, in as many ways as possible, daily.

1. For your own health, take a walk every day with the love of your life, as my Love taught and did with me. As you walk, pick up litter, and put it in a plastic grocery bag you always take with you. We dumped ours three times along every walk. After some time, we purchased a 3 foot grabber tool to keep our hands clean and avoid bending over.
If you see any problems, report them to the city department responsible for that area. Illegal signs to code enforcement. Electrical hazards to maintenance. Overgrown plants to landscaping. Potholes or street/sidewalk problems to street maintenance. Get to know the departments.

2. When you see a burned-out brake light, honk and show the driver your sign "BRAKE LIGHT OUT" in big, bold letters 3 inches high. Keep them safe.

3. When you see a corporate car, van, or truck speeding or driving illegally, write down identifying license plate or vehicle number and name of company. Record where it was and what it was doing so you can call or email the company when you get to your computer . You might save a life or prevent a wreck.

4. If you see something that needs to be addressed, take charge. Someone stole a shopping cart and left it in the park for three days. So I tied it tight to the back of my bumper and towed it to the grocery store half a mile away. Did the same thing with six Target shopping carts thrown into the concrete canal and towed all six a mile before the police woman pulled me over. "What are you doing?"
"Well, nobody else returned these shopping carts from the river bottom, so I'm doing it." She called for a city truck to relieve me of my duties.

5. Report dead animals you see in the street, or pick them up yourself. Police dispatch will take care of it.

6. When you gentlemen see a lady on the side of the highway or freeway with a flat tire, stop and change it out for her. Easy for a man. Very difficult for most all women. I've done it many times. Imagine if that was your wife or daughter. Take care of her as if she were.

"The pervasive anti-religious bigotry of public schools and colleges extends to America’s libraries as well. When I learned of The Irrational Atheist by Vox Day, I went to my local library to check it out. They did not have it, nor did any library anywhere in America except for the Library of Congress, which loaned it to me. What a searing indictment on the religious bigotry of our librarians who are well stocked with books by atheists ridiculing America’s Christian heritage and birthright." - Brilliant Creations - The Wonder of Nature and Life, page 1 (second printing)

What really gives people meaning and happiness is a combination of four things: Control over what they're doing, progress in what they're pursuing, being connected with others, and being part of something they enjoy that's bigger than themselves. - The Motely Fool

Profound fortuitous interdependencies have the human mind as their convergence. But for the mind, all else is in vain. The confluence of the Universe around us - every impossibly precise constant, every means and a result of communication, and development, and progress has as its final destination the mind of man. As Aristotle said, "Man is the measure of all things." Without us to appreciate our Universe, what is of any consequence? - Brilliant Creations - The Wonder of Nature and Life, page 213
