Thought For The Day by John Jaeger, MBA

"His (Dawkin’s) metaphor of climbing the mountain (Climbing Mount Improbable, by Richard Dawkins) is loaded with intentionality. No climber ever reached the summit of a high and difficult mountain without a powerful sense of wanting to get there. The very fact that Dawkins admits to aiming for the summit, or in his own words, “only accepting mutations that improve optical performance”, is surely the most blatant admission that his version of neo-Darwinism is, despite claims to the contrary, profoundly goal-centered and purposeful." - How Blind is the Watchmaker, by Neil Broom, page 167

"The science to which I pinned my faith is bankrupt. Its counsels, which should have established the millennium, have led directly to the suicide of Europe. I believed them once. In their name I helped to destroy the faith of millions. And now they look at me and witness the great tragedy of an atheist who has lost his faith." - George Bernard Shaw, famous atheist, shortly before his death in 1950

"There can never be any real opposition between religion and science; for the one is the complement of the other. Every serious and reflective person realizes, I think, that the religious element in his nature must be recognized and cultivated if all the powers of the human soul are to act together in perfect balance and harmony. And indeed it was not by accident that the greatest thinkers of all ages were deeply religious souls" ~ Max Planck, Nobel Laureate in physics

My daily goal is to help as many people as possible in as many ways as possible.

Toward that end, I just ordered prescription glasses at an online source I have used for years.

It is 39dollarglasses.com You do not have to pay $200 or $300 for your prescription glasses.

These guys have great bargains and I have never returned anything they sent me.

Mention my name, tell them I referred you and you get $10 off your first order.

They will also send me a $10 credit toward my next order, but I don't care much about that.
This is for all of you.

“One hundred years from my day, there will not be a Bible on earth except one that is looked upon by an antiquarian curiosity-seeker.” - Voltaire in 1776 (1694-1778)

Today there are 2.4 billion Christians worldwide, and 450 million atheists, which has been adjudicated a religion by the Supreme Court in two separate decisions. Atheists are clueless of the definition of "religion." "A strongly held belief system"

I met a physics teacher two years ago and spoke to him about my book which discusses the brilliant creations surrounding all of us. He agreed and said he asks his physics classes, "How long would it take all of the separate parts of a Tesla to assemble themselves into an operational car?"

As illuminating as his question is, the inalienable fact is that it would be inconceivably more impossible for all the raw materials from around the world to mine themselves, then ship themselves to factories, where they would each individually be refined, machined and assembled to precise tolerances to fit together, then ship themselves to the warehouse and shelve themselves, to eventually assemble one magnificent automobile.

December 21, 2024 As the American Enterprise Institute’s Charles Murray wrote in 2012, “The long, intrusive, expensive role of the federal government in K-12 education does not have any credible evidence for a positive effect on American education.”

Professor Jay Greene writes, “The Department of Education has performed wonderfully once you understand what its true purpose has always been. The department is designed to provide material and political benefits to the teachers’ unions, not to improve student outcomes. In achieving this goal, the Department of Education has been a smashing success.”

America went from first to 24th in education after Carter created the Department of Education, which has an annual budget of 251 billion dollars.

I gave cash gifts to each of my grandchildren, instructing them to open a Fidelity Roth IRA account and purchase $10,000 in QQQ, FIFNX, or SPY and hold them for their retirement. If they will add just $2,000 annually for forty years, when they begin withdrawals, their balances will be over $1,200,000 and they can withdraw as they need, with no federal income taxes.

Take care of your grandchildren in a very memorable way. [The annual limit is $7,000 and they must have earned income, but the first year purchase can add a make-up contribution for the previous year.]

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”

He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Today I looked up the performance of Exchange Traded Funds for the past five years in order to gauge their performance for the future, hopefully. No guarantees in life.

DJI - Dow Jones Industrials 72.54%

SPY - Standard & Poor 500 101.56%

QQQ - Nasdaq Index 146.89%

BRK-B - Berkshire Hathaway fund 150.73%

I am heavily invested in QQQ and BRK-B, but also money market accounts, in case I'm wrong.

SEP/IRAs are the way to go, as well as Roth IRAs.

The information within the DNA that corresponds to the nucleic acids is primary to the entire discussion of life. The information is even more fundamental than the matter upon which it is encoded. The requisite molecules, including lipids, proteins, nucleic acids, and carbohydrates are so unlikely to have occurred in the states and quantities needed that we never could have gotten to the point of figuring out the genesis of the requisite code of information. The code is analogous to the difference between the library of congress and a big box of alphabetic letters. The library has a huge amount of embedded information, while the box of letters has little. Without that first cell, which requires the four molecule types plus information, all proposals regarding biological evolution are without a base of life. - Dr. James Tour, biochemist

Many people don’t realize that science basically involves assumptions and faith. Wonderful things in both science and religion come from our efforts based on obser-

vations, thoughtful assumptions, faith and logic. (With the findings of modern physics, it) seems extremely unlikely (that the existence of life and humanity are) just accidental. (Charles Townes, Nobel Laureate and Professor of Physics at University of California, Berkeley)1

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them (people); for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they (nonbelievers) are without excuse. (Romans 1:19–20)

“Show me proof of God,” nonchalantly demanded by atheists today, was anticipated and answered two thousand years ago. “The invisible things of him are clearly seen.”
I spoke with a physics teacher about these observations, and he replied, “I ask my students, ‘How long do you think it would take a warehouse of Tesla car parts to assemble themselves?’”
As creative and illustrative as this Socratic method question is, the far bigger challenge is for the warehouse full of complementary and perfectly matched parts to mine their ores and materials from around the world; ship themselves across oceans to factories where they would have to refine, shape, machine, and fabricate themselves to incredibly close tolerances; then ship themselves again to the final warehouse where they would then, hypothetically, assemble themselves.
