Now, what do you think should happen to the culprit? (remember don't jump to any conclusions)

Here’s the statement from police:

Statement from Grand Valley Police Department Chief Renee Freeman:

The Grand Valley State University Police Department has concluded a thorough investigation of the Racial Bias incident reported on February 17, 2014. The person believed to be responsible for the drawing and language written on the dry erase board is a Grand Valley student and the owner of the message board.

The incident has had a disruptive impact on the community and as a result, the student has been referred to the Dean of Students for a student code violation. University policy does not permit the release of his/her name.

The news report stated the NAACP had already held a meeting in the dormitory ... Dialog about the evils of racism had already been examined and nurtured by the school administration and concerned community.
In all honesty ... It doesn't matter who wrote it on the board ... Everyone lined up to start jumping through the racism hoops just as they should.

It is never a good sign when people feel the need to manufacture a grievance to maintain protected status.

I didn't see in the article where the race of the person accused was ever given.

It doesn't matter what the race of the accused is ... And I posted that above ... The agenda is progressed no matter who writes it.
But ... If you want to be a stickler about it ... The news clip did identify ... "This is the message the student came home to ..." ... And that it would be intimidating to the student.

Edit:
This took me 20 seconds to find ... "But in February, Dean of Students Bart Merkle said the comments were discovered on a whiteboard hanging on the door of a black student's dorm room in Copeland Living Center."

If the student were white I'd be willing to bet the race of the student would have been released. This all seems kind of mild compared to the "Knock Out Game" a lot of blacks seem to have no problem with.

What do you expect from a "white board"? It's an inherently racist product!

immediate expulsion of the student and all those involved for trying to gin up violence.

anything short of that shows the school supports racism.

Hate speech is entitled to First Amendment protections, provided it doesn’t advocate for imminent violence or lawlessness (Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969), R.A.V. v. City of St. Paul (1992)). Based on what we can see in the video there doesn’t seem to be an imminent threat directed at a particular person or persons.

Except on college campuses, which are rights-free zones these days.

A good defense lawyer will simply say that no wrong doing occurred. There's a stick figure hanging. The stick figure is white. The word black is written nearby. The word "black" doesn't necessarily point to a black person. Black would/could also indicate death. So the entire drawing could simply mean "death." It could also be argued that the owner of the board was playing an association game of some sort to see how folks would react. He could argue that it was an experiment he was doing for sociology class.

Food for thought.
