See the highlighted part.

Psychologists define rationalizing an insult as a defense mechanism designed to minimize discomfort, avoid accountability, or protect self-esteem. By reframing an insult as "truth," "constructive criticism," or a "joke," the brain reduces cognitive dissonance and shifts blame from the speaker to the target, creating a "sweet lemon" (recasting negativity positively) or "sour grapes" (ignoring negative information) scenario.

The fallen world says otherwise. As near as I can tell Satan is the god you worship.
I have theory about that. In Hebrew Satan means opposer its not a devil. We have no devil. But another name for Satan is Lucifer. Who is that? He is the bearer of light.
"Lucifer" is a Latin term meaning "light-bringer" or "morning star" (referring to the planet Venus), which later became synonymous with Satan or the devil in Christian theology.
I believe there is mistranslation here.
In the beginning God said let there be light. Well hell, oops, he forgot to make the sun. So it cant be sunlight. What God meant was enlightenment.

Spiritual Enlightenment
In Eastern philosophies like Buddhism and Hinduism, enlightenment (or Bodhi and Nirvana) represents the ultimate state of spiritual awakening.
Merriam-Webster +4
  • Buddhism: It is a state of supreme wisdom and the absence of desire or suffering, where one is freed from the cycle of rebirth.
  • General Meaning: It often describes a personal realization or "awakening" that brings inner peace, self-awareness, and a deeper understanding of reality.
Viktor Frankl went even deeper. He found while in a NAZI concentration camp that those who survived were not the strong ones. They were those whose lives had meaning. A life with meaning comes from enlightenment. The inherent human need to create a life that means something more then survival and procreation. Frankl found that people who had lost the meaning in their lives or had no meaning experienced depression and despair.
So the question we ask what is the meaning of life? Its life with meaning.
God created this first. Thats why we create art music poetry beauty etc. That may be Gods greatest gift to us.

I base my belief of Satan on man knowing right from wrong and rationalizing he didn't do wrong when he did. It's systemic.

It's an allegorical account that basically says God created existence and everything we see unfolded sequentially over time after that. The thing that most impressed me was that it said God created the universe and then light appeared after that which is exactly what happened as there was no light when the universe was created. Light did not appear until the universe cooled down enough for radiation to decouple from matter which was about 400,000 years after the universe was created.

The Zoroastrians were dualists they believed in an endless battle between good and evil. I never saw the need for Satan. There are plenty of bad people.

The evilest, is that a word, man I ever came across in my career was Gary Heidnick. When I worked in the psych unit at Temple Hospital one of his survivors became my patient. She described what he did to her and others. I posted a response using him here but go ahead and google his name. He was an anti social personality, psychopath, a genetic disorder.

I'm not a dualist as near as I can tell. And it's not just bad people that do it. It's everyone. Even you have been doing it.

That's not making me believe Satan doesn't exist. As near as I can tell, we are rebels at war with God. And the only thing that will change my mind are the people of the world becoming accountable. Which I don't see that happening anytime soon. For that to happen there's going to have to be a lot more suffering. People don't change their behaviors for no reason.
