When Galileo Galilei had been a child the heliocentric world view has already been taught at all European universities. And Galileo Galilei was a kind of scientific superstar during his whole life - specially also because Rome and the Pope supported him. But when he became old he became more and more whimsical. He never accepted for example the results of Kepler (Newton's theory will be basing one day on Keplers laws). And he told everyone "I am the only one who knows the truth - all others are wrong". This was an extremely dangerous statement. And such a statement is by the way indeed always only wrong. To remember: On the other side of the Alps had been an unbelievable brutal and cruel war because a man there - Martin Luther - also said so about hundred years ago. Later this war will be called "the 30 years war" - and all Italians can still be today happy that this unbelievable brutal war never came to Italy.
