nothing could be further from the truth, always willing to share a little water for a desert dweller.
Your problem here could it be that you confuse the words "to help" and "to enslave" and you lead to the way to discuss about the categories of Darwinian materialism and racism vs spiritual enlightenment. And as a German with also Jewish ancestors I do not feel any need to discuss about such themes. I know well my own scientific knowledge, my philosophical assumptions and my religious faith. And nothing of this is in conflict with each other on the simple reason: there is no conflict between faith and science. Truth is always true.

Even today, there are many settings in which the Christian faith is considered absurd, meant for the weak and unintelligent. Settings where other securities are preferred, like technology, money, success, power, or pleasure.
These are contexts where it is not easy to preach the Gospel and bear witness to its truth, where believers are mocked, opposed, despised or at best tolerated and pitied. Yet, precisely for this reason, they are the places where our missionary outreach is desperately needed. A lack of faith is often tragically accompanied by the loss of meaning in life, the neglect of mercy, appalling violations of human dignity, the crisis of the family and so many other wounds that afflict our society.
Today, too, there are many settings in which Jesus, although appreciated as a man, is reduced to a kind of charismatic leader or superman. This is true not only among non-believers but also among many baptized Christians, who thus end up living, at this level, in a state of practical atheism.

By the way: Human beings - children of god - are able to live with contradictions and absurdities and to make them clear - machines and machine minded people are not able to do so. About this problem said the great comedian Mr. Charles Chaplin some very serios words in his film "The Great Dictator". A film he never had done if he had really known the truly extremely evil abyss of Hitler and his Nazism.
