Zone1 Pope Leo calls for peace, gives Putin a pass and criticizes Trump. That is politics, not a call for peace.

Following the lead of his predecessor, Pope Leo is another Liberal Pontiff who slams Trump with his "delusion of omnipotence" statement. Yet the Pope of Peace seems to ignore the one million Russians and Ukrainians who have died in Putin's completely insane and baseless war. He has also slammed President Trump's illegal immigration actions as "inhuman".

It is very sad that such a powerful man who COULD take a true stance for world peace chooses to be just another Trump basher.

There is over 50 armed conflicts right now. A dozen or so actual wars.
He couldnt call out all of them.

Leo should just STFU and mind his business at the Vatican. No one gives a crap about his world views.

Mods...please close this thread. The supporting link does not support the ludicrous claims in the title.

1. Pope Leo did not bash President Trump, he called for world peace.
2. It appears President Trump took this as a criticism of him.

My take:

Pope Leo says he is simply proclaiming the Gospel in calling for world peace and accepting illegal immigration/immigrants. As a Catholic, I believe Pope Leo is not so much preaching the Gospel as taking on a responsibility that is not his to shoulder. Jesus did not go forth preaching world peace. In fact, he didn't preach to nations at all, but to people. He kept it at a very personal/people level, not at a national one.

Jesus called for peace in our personal lives, and bringing peace into our personal dealings with the people we, personally, come into contact with. He didn't tell nations, kings, emperors not to start or not to continue with wars.

If any Pope wishes to advise a national leader on the teachings of Jesus, then he should keep it on that individual level. If he suggests one leader to stop dropping bombs, then he should be suggesting the other leader give up their pursuit of nuclear weapons. Instead of telling a leader of a nation to accept all illegal immigrants, he should be addressing the illegal immigrants on what Jesus might be calling them to do, or the way to accomplish or bring about what they are after without breaking any laws of any country.

As a Catholic, I would encourage the Pope to talk to/instruct the people as individuals, instead of attempting to instruct nations. That would be walking in Jesus' steps.

False. Pope Leo is a Chicago politician dressed in a Pope's robe. He is clearly focusing on President Trump while ignoring the insanity of Putin and his million death war with Ukraine as well as other long bloody wars in Yemen, Sudan etc.

True. How many various, primary sources did you read and investigate?

Dr. Bassem Naim, a member of the Political Bureau of Hamas, expressed solidarity with the Pope of the Vatican in the face of what he described as a “shameful attack” by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Naim stated that “the attack represents a new peak of tyranny and corruption,” emphasizing that “insulting religious figures and undermining their dignity is unacceptable and must be condemned.” He called for “all people of good faith, adherents of religions, and defenders of noble values to unite in confronting this corrupt clique that seeks to determine the destiny of humanity.”

Three plus an AI overview that stated the following:

On April 11, 2026, Pope Leo XIV denounced the "delusion of omnipotence" driving the U.S.-led war in Iran during a St. Peter's Basilica peace vigil.

Pope Leo could have responded to Trump by simply saying "I am addressing all wars, not just the US Iran conflict. Instead he stated "I have no fear of President Trump". Like I said he is a Chicago politician choosing to criticize Trump while giving Putin a pass.

Read your quote, "I have not fear of President Trump" (that's not what he said). Does Pope Leo call on Iran to stop their nuclear buildup? Finally, does Pope Leo have a plan other than to say the two nations should simply talk? What has "talking" accomplished these past several decades? How long is he proposing they "talk" this time? Will he lead these talks? How would the world respond should he offer to do this?

Pope Leo XIV met with a Øbamaite last week, one David Axelrod.

IMO, no coincidence that this statement came out days later.

Pope Leo is dividing Catholics with his very liberal statements. He should be uniting them instead of tearing the church apart with his political comments.

Strategic appointment by the Vatican. They want a distraction away from the mounting sexual abuse lawsuits springing up all over the world against Catholic Priests.

15th post
Pope Leo seems oblivious to Iran's desire for nukes and that they already have rockets that could reach Rome.
And he is soft on crime, per Trump.

You have to love the Cult's immediate turnaround and hate on the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church like other major institutions continues it's march to the Left. Pope Francis was a Leftist and Pope Leo is even further to the Left.

I have no idea where you are going with this. The discussion is not about "the talks" which I do not support. As I posted in another thread you can't negotiate with vermin. It is about Pope Leo's statements that just like as predecessor wants to butt heads with Trump rather than address the corruption in his own back yard.
