Zone1 habemus papam!

The first American pope ever. This is going to be interesting given what we have for president right now.
The Catholics don't care who the president is. Why are you so obsessed with him?

The following link is to a Vatican News source.

As I have said. I don’t doubt it. But a report is still just somebody saying it. Maybe that reporter saw the paperwork from Peru? Or maybe it simply reiterates other reports from other reporters and nobody ever obtained the official records?

Anything is possible, but Vatican records are most likely correct. Besides, Pope Leo has two brothers, and at least one seems likely to speak out if what is being reported is incorrect.

I assume they are correct. But that doesn’t alter the point.

The point remains: if the reports all say the same thing, with “reporters” merely repeating some prior reports, that isn’t the same thing as offering the original source.

Frankly, I don’t give a hoot if he is a dual citizen or isn’t.

good point,!

The new Pope is an American. He is not a Peruvian.

He is an US-American and a Peruvian. So indeed we could call him the second and third pope who came from America.

What you do not like to understand: If an US-American says "I'm an American" then this statement is true - independent whether he speaks about the continent America or the United States of [the continent] America. But for someone from outside of the continent America an American is everyone who lives on the continent America. Canadians are Americans, Peruvians are Americans and so on - and US-Americans are also Americans.

To be serios: I have not any idea why this is a problem for you. A Norwegian for example is an European. But Norway is no part of the EU. It also exist EU-Europeans and/or other Europeans.

By the way: Some modern structures are for example racist because they like to be anti-racist. Example: The expression "Indo-Germanic languages" was changed because of prejudices against Germans. It is called now "Indo-European languages". But "Germanic" not means Germans. India is the far most East-Southern country of the Indo-Germanic languages and parts of Scandinavia are the most West-Northern part of the Indo-Germanic languages. But outside and within of this big stream exist also other languages. Most famous are Fins and Hungarians. Their both languages are closely related - what astonishes everyone because no one really knows how this had happened. Their Finno-Uyghur languages are not "Indo-European" but Finns and Hungarians are Europeans. The expression "Indo-European" excludes them somehow from Europe. I heard they spoke their languages here a long time before Indo-Germanic languages came to Europe. By the way - you also speak an Indo-European language and you are no European.

because all desert dwellers need help of one kind or another ...

I don't think you really like to help me.

think fiction, that will help for you to understand the christian bible and the makebelieve works of christianity.

Your problems are not my problems. I do not need to understand the Bible. I need to understand god. And the Bible is a tool to help to do so. It doesn't matter whether someone reads the Bible to wonder or sticks it under a table leg so that the table doesn't wobble and someone else doesn't have to wonder.

hopefully the new pope will begin the rewrite of the christian bible to give it some true meaning.

You have absolutelly not any lousy idea what you try to speak about, isn't it?

No. The second.

Argentinia. You seem not to know that Argentinia is a part of the continent America.

And now be just simple happy that the first time in the last 2025 years a Catholic who was born in the USA is pope now. Or just keep poking around haphazardly if you enjoy it.

You are no Catholic, aren't you?
/—-/ You remind me of mid evil Bishops arguing for years about how many angels can dance on a pin head. Pope Leo XIV is the first pope born in the USA. Deal with it.

Sure is Pope Leo XIV is the first pope born in the USA. Currently he is the only one Pope who ever had been born in the USA. I will not hope he will be the last Pope born in the USA. But congrats not only to you - congrats also to all Peruvians because one of
them who is for sure in his heart a Peruvian became Pope. Pope Leo XIV unites you in a new way which never had existed before. Long live - forever live - the friendship between Peru and the USA.

I don’t care. ...

Exactly that's what you do. And exactly the contrary was doing Pope Leo XIV during his whole life. He always cared. So what are you proud on? Not to be an American like him?

No good point. If you like to know - ask him and not anyone else - that's the most easy. He lived about 24 years in Peru and 12 years in Italy. The Romans are happy because he can speak Italian. He is a Roman for them - their bishop. I heard he also speaks some German - but I have not any idea when and why he learned to do so. I will not ask him. I'm sure he had a reason to do so.

So what?

We could. It would be wrong. But we could.
What you do not like to understand:

I’m the one who does understand. You’re not quite getting anything.
If an US-American says "I'm an American" then this statement is true - independent whether he speaks about the continent America or the United States of [the continent] America.
Nonsense. If a person from Africa (a continent) says “I am from Africa,” he is obviously talking about the continent.
But if he says “I am an American,” then he is stating his nationality. He is saying he is FROM the United States.

I don’t bother with the rest of your post because you’re too obtuse to pay much time in.

Wrong again. I don’t care about the silliness you are spewing.

Go play “holier than thou” somewhere else where someone might give a shit.

Tell that to all of the Catholics who have ever voted in a presidential election. Because I would assume that if they cast a vote, they did not do so with the belief that they didn't care who was elected, but did so with the hope that the person they voted for would be elected.

Are you able to tell me what's your real problem? ¿That you are not alone on this planet and that you will die one day and have to leave it?

By the way: The word "America" is a German invention from Martin Waldseemüller and his team on reason to honor the Italian Amerigo Vespucci who had been the first who found out that Columbus discovered a new continent. The discussion "Why god had been creating two worlds - the old world and the new world?" will dominate many discussions in the next few decades in the beginning of the 16th century. About 180-200 years later the USA will be founded.

You strike me more as someone who would enjoy bombing a Christian church filled with Christian men, woman and children.

/----/ And who elected you to speak for all Catholics? You bet Catholics care who the president is. My family and circle of friends all vote and care which one is elected. Pro LIfe Trump over Abortion Joe, hands down.

that's you christian -

But, as with the 1963 Birmingham bombing, Southern law enforcement was slow to investigate the church attacks and bring prepetrators to justice.
