Zone1 A Woke Pope?

If I said to you we should be good stewards, is that woke? Was Jesus woke?
As the old saying goes: "What would Jesus do?"

Jesus said to "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's." (Matthew 22:21). "Caesar," obviously, refers to government powers.

The Pope is not above the law. The Pope can't rewrite the law. He is subject to God and he is subject to law. We can agree with the Pope on some issues and disagree with him on others because at the end of the day ... he's just an imperfect, fallen man like the rest of us. When it rains ... he gets wet. And he uses the bathroom like the rest of us.

Jesus emphasized that serving "the least of these"—the vulnerable and marginalized—is equivalent to serving Him, right? Or is that for "Caesar" to take care of?

Who is saying otherwise?

Absolutely. What I am trying to understand is if you believe preaching the gospel is woke.

🚨
"BREAKING:OVER A DOZEN PRIESTS who have worked alongside Pope Leo have come forward in the wake of his recent comments toward President Trump to allege that during his time as a priest, the now Pope routinely espoused WOKE IDEOLOGY that is antithetical to the Catholic faith, including vocally supporting abortion, divorce, endorsing gender reassignment surgery and even MARRYING GAY COUPLES in the church. These former priest colleagues say that Leo frequently brought politics into the Catholic church and "seemed to care more about bashing President Trump and conservative values than the faith". They have further opined that in no world should this man be a priest yet alone the Pope. Do YOU agree?"

I have a hard time believing a Pope who had this sort of thing in his recent past would have been around this long and it not have come to light before this.

Regardless, I'm not a fan - and not just because he is publicly attacking Trump and Vance.

Interesting.

I wonder how all of this will work out with the Prophecies of St. Malachy?

St. Malachy's Prophecy of the Popes and Antipopes (2nd edition)

The Prophecy of the Popes, attributed to St. Malachy, is a series of 112 short, cryptic Latin phrases predicting 112 Roman Catholic popes (and some antipopes) starting from Celestine II (1143) to the final pope, "Petrus Romanus" (Peter the Roman). The prophecy alleges the last pope’s reign will lead to the destruction of Rome and judgment day.

Key Details of the Prophecy
  • Origin: Allegedly written in 1139, but first published in 1595, prompting historians to consider it a 16th-century fabrication due to its high accuracy before 1590 and lack thereof afterward.
  • "Peter the Roman": The final pope, Petrus Romanus, is said to guide his flock through many tribulations during the end of the world.
  • "Gloria Olivae": Pope Benedict XVI was identified as "Gloria olivae" (the glory of the olive).
  • Pope Francis: Often associated with the end times, as his reign comes after 111 other popes/mottos, though many interpretations of the final "Peter" do not precisely align.
