Actually the more conservative I have gotten the more empathy I have gained. How do you know you are not confusing your brother's lack of empathy for his beliefs about accountability? Don't you believe people should be accountable? Or do you believe people should lie to get out of trouble and steal and cheat? If you are criticizing someone for lying, stealing or cheating, couldn't someone else say you lacked empathy because you weren't taking into consideration that they grew up poor?

Says he took care of his kids. But he also said he spent 20 years off and on in prison. So how did he take care of those kids? He didn't. We did.

He's wrong about that. The only thing that will come from this is a whole lot of suffering. Which I hope I am wrong about because if I am right this could be pretty bad. But maybe from that suffering something good will arise. Who knows? We'll see.
I mean honestly, why are we at war with Iraq? Same question we asked about Saddam. Oh he was a bad man. Killed a lot of his people. BLABLABLA Not our problem. Who's next after Iran? And we can't even "win" in Iran. Same way we never "won" in Iraq.

Anyways, he just bought a new 1.2 million dollar home. He has forgotten the under $100,000 class a long time ago. His CEO bosses took him on a business trip and convinced him he is a Republican. I think he's rich enough to be one although I don't think he even benefits from Republicans. But he keeps asking me if I've checked my investments lately. So the stock market is good? It was good under Biden too. And Trump ain't worth the drama. Hitler was good for business too. Lots of spending on bombs and planes.
Anyone who has not hedged against a debauched dollar is a fool and deserves what he gets. As for normal market ups and downs, hold onto your britches. It's going to be a shaky ride until Iran is resolved and I don't see that happening. So there's a strategy for that too which is a bit like riding on the back of a tiger.
Today I said to him "do you know how you can tell if a person comes from self made money or is born into it? A self made man still moves his own furniture into his $1.2 million dollar home". We laughed. He said "I'm also painting the place".
You shouldn't be afraid to talk to him. Just be respectful and curious. Don't be judgemental.
