Do you like having rights that cannot be taken away?

Do you like being equal?


I'm sure you would respond with a "yes" to both. Our declaration of independence is clear "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights..."

You don't believe in God?

Well, there is a very good reason for this, having a source of your rights being higher than any man, higher than any state, removes the possibility of another Hitler, another Stalin from holding their own interpretations and belief systems over our unalienable rights, enslaving us in an unimagineable hell.

The idea of being created equal?

We were all, according to the bible, created in the image of God. Every man, every woman, black or white was created in the image of God.

The State is not God!

I'm not quite sure what you are talking about since our laws and rights are based on the constitution and not the declaration of independence.

And another thing....were gay people created in the image of God? I noticed you didn't address them.

The declaration is an extremely important document, its vital importance should not be undermined in any way. The base upon which this country is based is outlined in it, our right, or more accurately our duty to overthrow a tyrannical government that does not represent or respect the people of America is detailed whithin it. The idea that our God given rights come from a power higher than ourselves again is outlined in this document.

Go read it if you have not yet done so.

Not to get off the subject too much...

Just thinking.. you know, its quite something to read the declaration these days. The language in it is often something that some modern day Americans feel uncomfortable with, sounds like terrorist lingo!. It was only about 15% of the population that were supportive of the revolution. The rest wanted to just go along with the king and work things out.

Might I assume you are attempting to make some point or another with this thread? In other words .... CUT TO THE CHASE!
