Coca-Cola makes $10 billion per year from Food Stamps

You’re still talking about DOGE? I thought those losers folded after they were caught repeatedly lying and never producing any evidence or proof.

Fucking clowns.

You don’t actually care about helping people. You just want to stop spending any taxpayer money on them.

As a usual prog you just want to spend other people's money and don't care about results.

The obesity belt runs right through deep red America.

But yeah, let’s have republicans lecture us on results.

People who can afford shit on their own can buy their own shit.

People who need government assistance can be dictated to.

So it’s not actually about health. It’s about your emotional need to dictate.

it's not about health for you, that's for sure. It's about securing those fat cushy government jobs running these programs in perpetuity.

I suspect the figure is overblown for clicks but why the heck are sugary drinks even allowed to be purchased with EBT/SNAP?

And then taxpayer funded Medicaid pays to fix the poor's cavities.....We pay the "poor" to get fat, then pay even more to give them free medical care for their chosen obesity.

Food stamps should change from default accept to default deny. It shouldn't be "you can buy anything except XYX." Move to "You can't buy anything except ABC. Then make food manufacturers apply to qualify their products.

Everything the .gov touches turns out to be a grift. :eusa_wall:

Fyi

A number of different drinks including water, power drinks, tea, coffee, minute maid orange juice, vitamin water etc....All Coca-Cola products

Coke owns dozens of brands in addition to its namesake Coca-Cola, including Sprite, Fanta, Powerade, Dasani, Mr. Pibb, Gold Peak tea, BodyArmor, Smartwater, Minute Maid, and Costa Coffee. The company has a broad portfolio of both developed and acquired brands.

And now Marty is back to the “let’s make shit up when it’s convenient”.

It takes more government work to generate lists of foods that SNAP benefits are allowed to be used for.

It’s not just the poor that need help improving their diets.

It takes plenty of government to make cushy lifelong jobs and pensions for democratic conies.

I don’t drink but the government would not be buying my scotch, you are free to drink as much soda that you want, you are free to have as many abortions that you want, you are free to restrict free speech, but government has a right, if they are funding you, to restrict what you spend that money on. It is a monthly grant given to you by the government based on criteria they set forth.

They have rules in place (not followed well). In an ideal world it would work "more better". But this is real world stuff. Single mother,7 kids ain't easy. Now you want sugar police and private chefs to prepare a menu? Or cook the school meals? Kids don't like vegetables and they want corn dogs. Now what? At least they are eating.

In Asia they get white rice 5x per day with some fish, little meat, lots of vegetables. They don't get choice amd less junk. You could try that here?

Soda as a whole is about 5% of the food stamp family budget, 10% on all sugary drinks including sport drinks, teas, high fructose fruit drinks. That is from a 2016 study. In terms of 2023, that would be $5.6 billion on soda and $11.2 billion on all sugary beverages.

That's where the poor's live. It's related.

The healthiest state is Colorado, many well to do folks who enjoy the scenic outdoors.

Obesity is more closely related to income than politics.

If you want to reduce administrative expenses in these programs, you’d make them easier to apply for, broader, fewer rules and stipulations

The exact opposite of what conservatives propose.

Conservatives want to make these programs operate as poorly as possible to give them an excuse to cut them. Weaponized incompetence.

So throw more money away with no stipulations.

In this thread we can see the total disregard of commonsense by the left.

It really boggles the mind how obtuse and insulated these people must be from the real world around them.

That said if you look at their posts it's just one leftist parroting the virtue-signaling of another leftist....No real thoughts of their own that make any sense.....Just like the Borg, they have been assimilated.

The really sad part is that they have a say in anything by being able to cast a vote so the stealing of our wealth, along with promoting an unhealthy lifestyle can continue without feeling remorse and shame for what they have wrought.

I’m not saying ban all foods, I am saying ban sugary drinks that have no nutritional value.

No desire for results, no request for improvement, just throwing money at the problem.

Meanwhile on another thread, it harps for child drugging and mutilation.
