Reagan didn't cry about the media or peddle conspiracy theories about rigged elections.

He projected confidence and he kicked ass. He didn't need to whine about the refs. And if he lost, like he did in 1976, he shook his opponents hand and went back to work.

He had the rhetorical skill and intelligence to appeal to Americans in all parts of the country, not just the Alt Right. He didn't need excuses and conspiracy theories to cover up the failure of his campaign.

Trump, on the other hand, just cries about how the world is unfair. He just whines ceaselessly about the media and rigged elections.

What's he going to do when he becomes president and the real hardball starts? Is he going to start whining when negotiations with Iran don't go well? Is he going to make excuses about how the world is unfair and the global system is rigged against him?

Politics is a fucking contact sport. The Right has been hunting the Clintons for nearly 30 fucking years. The Right routinely invents and distorts information to hurt and weaken the Clintons - but the Clinton's don't budge. They get their shit done with a fucking smile.

Same with Reagan. Parts of the Left treated Reagan like he was a moronic, senile baboon, but it never threw Reagan off his game. I deeply disagreed with him, and I think he harmed this nation, but I respect how Reagan just smiled at his enemies and kicked their asses.
