After 2016 I was one of the people on here who loyally defended many of Trumps policies, especially as he wisely took on China. I was one of the few who warned about the global carnage I thought would occur if he lost. It isn't just at the top of the ticket but the administration one has to gauge and consider in order to formulate a possible future outcome.
I tend to view the bigger picture, easier for me perhaps as I don't live in America and I'm not surrounded by the daily divide and full throttle influence campaigns. Regardless, with the world as it is now and so many looking to knock the U.S off, so many far-left, pro-China governments in the world; Trump was needed with the right team around him.
Even though Harris was avoiding policy transparency, those she did speak of were far-left and in my opinion, economy harming. The worst in my opinion was tax on unrealized capital gains. That alone would have devastated the U.S economy.
When Harris was anointed after Biden was forced down, I said immediately and confidently on here that she was going to do worse in the states that mattered, the Swing States/Rust Belt. Even though Biden trailing Trump by many lengths in the polls, there was no scenario I saw where she would be more popular than him in these particular states. It panned out even more egregiously than I thought as Trump won them all. He may have done the same to Biden, but, Biden probably had the increased probability of winning a state or two where Harris did not.
As much as I didn't think Harris was popular, I was concerned that somehow the Establishment and powers that be would have convinced everyone though media that she the savior for America. She was able to leverage the abortion issue which I always thought the overturning of RvW was timed purposely, without any public instigation from anyone right before the 2022 Mid-Terms. Suspicious, so I thought. This provided the script to try and blame Trump for the low success of the GOP I presume, because it arrived right at the time when many women would vote in a mid-term when they otherwise would NOT have and far fewer people do vote in the mid-terms which helped the Dems greatly. I digress...
Ultimately, not only did Harris have a massive advantage over Trump in donated cash, but, the uncredited billions in free media, Google , Tik Tok and others would provide her, especially with their new lease on life after Biden was usurped. I thought that even though she is part of a very unpopular administration that she would squeak by thanks to the powerful allies she has.
Clearly I underestimated the will of the American people who truly did what I hoped they would do (but had doubts they would do): compare their two terms in office and compare policies beyond one single issue.
Now for the courage which to me is the most noble of traits. Trump was not only defying all the odds by refusing to go away, he surrounded himself with courageous people and made courageous decisions. Being shot and still fighting was the message, "I will never back down". He expressed his personality through these alliances really.
He dealt with the lawfare which must have given him a far better appreciation for those who are victims of government abuse but have far fewer resources or the ability to publicly call out the grievances. Ironically, it was this lawfare that I think may have initially drew the increased support and attention from many black men who had been the victims of injustice themselves when they might not have ever considered voting for Trump.
You then consider Musk who bought Twitter and was lambasted by the media and Establishment critters, tells advertisers "go F yourself" if they think he is going to be blackmailed by them. Just pure raw courage, no interest in being diplomatic in the face of their manipulate ways. Costing himself plenty of cash, he chose principle over profit. Courage.
Trump choosing Vance as V.P shocked everyone outside his orbit and was also a most difficult decision I'm sure. He thought about the Parties future legacy and what was best for America based on his lengthy interactions. It wasn't an easy decision clearly and he had to have second guessed himself often especially once Biden was replaced so soon after he made the choice. However, it was the right choice as much as I thought he had been hoodwinked by someone to ensure he didn't select someone with broad appeal. After watching Vance argue his positions in congress, it was evident to me that he was a sound choice with an excellent understanding of the issues facing America.
Vance as it were has the courage to confront media dishonesty after Trump courageously chose him. Notice the trend?
Gabbard who was basically cancelled stands up beside Trump even though it will further alienate her. Courage.
Rubio, Donaldson and Scott to a lesser degree, stand up with Trump, rejecting the bigger Establishment donors, putting the country first. Courage.
Vivek articulating why Trump should be chosen and having the difficult conversations out loud, be they why DEI is horrible for capitalism, the illegal immigration crisis or why Bolton is wrong about his Chicken Hawk stance. Courage.
Carlson speaking up for Trump and reminding all of us how difficult it was for Trump to choose Vance when everyone in his party even as others wanted him to go with Haley. He's been hit and miss with me for some time but usually seems genuine in his beliefs.
Even to the very end when Trump could have brought Haley out for a campaign event ( I probably would have) he decided, "you know what, it's time for a shift in this party and associating this campaign with her isn't going to help me, might even hurt me" and didn't give her the public portfolio that some might deem as his support. This makes it more difficult for her to try and win the GOP nomination in 2028 where Vance, Vivek and others who have moved with Trump and Party to become natural front runners. Surely one of Trumps considerations.
If Harris won she would been supported by Americans. The way the Dems usurped Biden after lying about his health and whatnot though, it didn't feel that this was a process that should be rewarded and I heard this stated multiple times on youtube. It wasn't her fault, the nomination was thrust upon her really by Biden who probably suspected she could not win the Swing States and wanted to punish Obama, Pelosi and the others by the public endorse of her immediately to avoid an open convention.
In the end, her choice of Walz I believe signaled just how far left the administration would have gone. There were plenty of policies ideas that were not spoken of during the campaign. What those policies would have been is anyones guess.
Americans still have that instinctive courage you've had since the Boston Tea Party. As such you reward those with courage and that's very important in the tumultuous times we find the world in.
Thank you for your time.
