Well it is a conundrum from a Christian perspective. God's kingdom is not of this world, but are there times when we should take up arms for wordily governments?I do wonder what "Christian" Trump supporters think of the murder and attacks on the capitol, and the reports of more to come. Those who are in here saying we're getting what we deserve.
I bet a lot of the violent ones are religious. They think they're fighting the devil. You may not take that shit seriously but they do.
For example, you had Christians like Dietrich Bonhoeffer struggle with the notion of trying to overthrow Hitler, which he ended up trying to do and dying for it.
And you had Christians, some of which were the Founding Fathers, struggle with the notion of breaking away from the British crown, etc.
And you had the Hebrew wars against the people who lived in the Holy Land.
You could write volumes of theological works covering these events from a Christian perspective.
What we have now is the rise of the religious left with the recently elected preacher Warnock who says man cannot serve God and the military. And being a Leftists regards abortion as reproductive justice Jesus would have loved.
