I had one some years ago. I used it for hunting coyote. The recoil was low enough and the rifle accurate enough to occasionally get 2 coyote to one call.

They are also a lot of fun to shoot.

I appreciate your answer. It sounds like a reasonable use for the gun. I personally feel the negatives out weigh the positives.
But again, I appreciate a sincere answer.

What negatives......there are 8 million or more of them in private hands.....they kill fewer people every single year than knives, clubs or empty hands........

The fear of the AR-15 is ginned up because it is the gateway gun for gun banners....they believe if they can ban the AR-15 and can get uninformed people like you to go along with it, they can come back and demand all semi auto rifles and pistols be banned because they all operate like the AR-15 rifle.....and if you ban the AR-15 because of the way it operates, there is no argument against banning the others...they know this, and that is their plan...

Not true....the Viet Minh defeated the French with stolen/found/captured weapons...they often took garrisons without firing a shot. Of course this is the French I'm talking about, but asymmetrical warfare chased us out of Vietnam and has us in Iraq and Afghanistan for 16 years. Most see rural America being able to hold off the US Military but I believe urban America would be more adept at it given public transportation and thousands of sniper nests. Don't believe for a minute the Army wouldn't open fire on Americans...they did it at Mt.Carmel (Waco) and in Detroit in 1967...that's why weapons like the AR and multiple round pistols can't be taken from us without a fight.
