Texas High School unveils $60 million football stadium

Glad to see that Texans have so much money to spend on their childrens education

Allen H.S. unveils $60 million football stadium

Allen TX is a great little city. Ever been there?

I tell ya, i have never seen a city (or area) more involved in junior and high school football in my life. Its a regular thing on TV.

If a city wants to sell bonds to improve its ONLY high school... why not? And to be fair... its not just a foot ball stadium and will used as a money maker when not in use by the school itself.

You should try Tyler or Odessa Permian. Football is a religious experience in parts of Texas.

I have no idea. The don't have the psychics team debates on TV at night.

The people of the city of Allen voted and will pay for a bond measure to improve its public school.

They must have the best academics in the nation if they can afford a $60 million stadium

Its not my city and not a bond measure i voted on. Alan voted on it and passed a bond measure to pay for a high school improvement.

Glad to see that Texans who can't afford affordable healthcare, good paying jobs and education can afford to cough up $60 million for a HS Football stadium

I love the game of football

But I hate schools that cut academics so hat they can throw money at their football team

I'm not a big fan of Sports Socialism like this, especially when it comes at the expense of important things, but I stopped reading when it said the average income in the county was $100k. Meh.

It is definitely a rich part of the state.

does that money come at the expense of the operating budget of the school?

thanks for being a fuckwit, fuckwit.

you'd think someone with as much practice as you've had would be a better loser.

Who do you think pays the bond fuck wit?

They can hide it as a non operating expense but the taxpayer still pays fuck wit.

How long to pay off $60 million at $10 a ticket fuck wit?

Based on $10.00 per ticket? If they sell out every game, say eleven games per season, not accounting for concession sales and not accounting for revenue generated from other events, about thirty years.

With 18,000 seats and six home games they will pull in about $1 million a year. Not even enough to pay the interest on a $60 million bond. Throw in electric, maintenance, staff and they are losing money every year

But hey...this is Texas

It's what passes for education

It's all that disgusting, filthy, and horrible old oil money sitting around rotting in banks while people in China go nekkid.

Poor, Fake Rightwinger...He just hates it when people exercise their freedoms. He wants this stopped!!! He knows what is best for Allen texas!!! They should build a community center to provide free condoms and needles with that money! Think of all the government cheese this could buy!

it's a highly rated hs in a highly rated district. 99% completion rate. doe blue ribbon school, etc

The median income for a household in the city in 2007 was $93,392, and the median income for a family was $100,736.

so you're pretty much full of shit, as usual.

And they just bought a White Elephant of a stadium

By the way, you failed at explaining how they would pay off a $60 million bond at $10 a ticket.

The one with a grass football field surrounded by aluminum bleachers?

It has served it's purpose for 30 years

focus, numbnuts; this is about the superior education that you provide to the young scholars in your community, as opposed to the clearly deficient job they're doing in allen, tx, according to you.
