No border wall, no more spending in Congress

Then sit down in a bi-partisan manner with your colleagues and work on the underlying issues of immigration, which so far, Millhouse and his crew have failed to do over the last decade plus.
Stop the gimmicks (the Wall) and wasting money. Walls don't keep people out. Just go ask the Israelis.

Everyone knows Biden wants more unrestricted money to let people in faster, stop talking like anyone else is as stupid as you are. The lies are just so obvious to everyone except you, but you have the brain of a turnip, vermin

Even as U.S. President Joe Biden and top congressional leaders from both parties are set to meet on Jan. 17, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson said that the time is not right for a deal on immigration and border issues that could pave the way for approval of new aid for Ukraine.

Politico reported on Jan. 16 that Biden had called for a bipartisan meeting of top leaders to try and hammer out a deal on border issues, Ukraine aid, and other spending issues. The U.S. has been stuck in internal battles over spending for months, stretching as far back as the ousting of previous Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy in October 2023.

Senate Republicans blocked the approval of $61.4 billion in aid for Ukraine in December, largely over concerns the bill did not contain border security measures.

"I don’t think now is the time for comprehensive immigration reform because we know how complicated that is,” Johnson said on the morning of Jan. 17.

"We have to secure our own border before we talk about doing anything else," he added, saying that he had already told Biden that he was not ready to make a deal earlier in the day on the phone.

"I’m going to tell the president what I’m telling all of you, what we’ve told the American people: border, border, border," Johnson said.

"What?", said Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer. "Well if that is the case, let's end government now! That's it!! No more country, no more democracy!!!"

Mitch McConnell responded.....................................or is should say he just staired at a wall for 2 hours before being taken home by a caregiver.

The country is scheduled to end March 30th.
I'm not against some sort of immigration reform but with it comes closing the border to illegals. Anyone crossing the border illegally is an illegal, not an asylum seeker. If you cross illegally you forfeit your claim to asylum, forever. If this means changing our laws then we change our laws. Since Democrats want to change the laws for immigration reform, then we change the laws regarding people coming here illegally. Democrats want their cake and want to eat it to.

You say that despite his efforts to better secure the border as Repubs block those efforts.........something Dems have pointed out they have been doing for years.

Sure thing. And the moon really is made of cheese, vermin

Told you so, Democrats will shut down government and burn the country to the ground before the give an inch, they don't give a shit if that hurts the American people.

The admin is currently engaged in negotiations with Senate Repubs on compromise legislation to address the border. The closer they get to an agreement the more intransigent House Repubs, especially the Crazy, get in order to make progress impossible. That's just reality.

Republicans have insisted that such a package be paired with measures to clamp down on migration at the southwestern border, and a bipartisan group of senators has made considerable progress on striking a compromise to do so. But the plan has no path to enactment if the House, where a sizable far-right contingent is pressing for even tougher immigration policies, refuses to accept it.

I already addressed this. EXACTLY. Democrats want more border money to allow in more rapists, slavers and drugs, not to keep them out. You're just lying, you know that, it's what you want to do, vermin

House Repubs refuse to compromise because they don't want reform legislation to pass ahead of the election cycle.

Right, we need measures because Democrats have no intention of "clamping down." You want more money to get people in faster. How many times do we need to address the same point before you process it? We're at three and counting, vermin

I was going to ask the same thing. The Biden admin is making concessions on "clamping down" at the border. House Repubs will continue to ask for extreme measures of dubious efficacy they know Dems won't agree to. It's called moving the goal line to ensure a compromise agreement is not achieved.

We're up to four failures to launch.

Right, that is clear. Republicans are negotiating trying to ensure Democrats can't just use the money to let in more people. What is it you don't grasp about that? It's obvious what you're doing, vermin

It sure is a shame that our elected "leaders" (ha) have chosen not work together any more.

Like most of our problems, it's just a self-inflicted wound. It's a choice.
The problem is this:

Dems want to flood America with millions more illegal aliens while conservative republicans want to stop the invasion

This is bullshit. Why on earth would dem or demon want to allow immigration at this level?
Your ignorance is the problem.

If they want to stop it then let them debate a bill to stop it and reverse previous GOP acts and laws that allowed more people into the US.

Why is Mike Johnson obeying the orders of the man who fucked up the Southern Border in the first place, and who wasn't elected President because of his policy failures, instead of helping the man who the American people wanted in charge of the Southern Border????
