After this health care debate.

I remembered a comment from someone from the U.K. that said this about us decades ago.

Americans will never accept socialism--if they know what it is--& or they see it coming. "It will take an "economic crisis" with Americans not looking.

According to the author of the above quote--we as Americans value our FREEDOM--over health care, over taxes--over defictis--& our own lives.

It's an inherit trait in every American.

We value FREEDOM above all else.

Let's never forget who we are! :clap2:

I wonder what would have happened if our founding fathers felt the way you do.

1) They're your founding fathers not mine.
2) As I said, freedom is over rated, it is but one aspect of existence.

I'm sorry, I didn't know you were not an American Citizen.

I'd rather starve a free penniless pauper then dine lavishly at a table as a slave. I guess I treasure freedom more than you.

What's stopping you? Let's start with your gun rights. I can carry my Glock in my purse, please tell is about your concealed carry laws.

Nobody's ever taken me up on the offer.

We do not have conceal carry laws. It is illegal to do so. It is considered a privilege not a right to carry a gun down here (NZ). We have licenses that make sure you are not a looney tune and know how to operate a gun safely. Once I pass my license (I did with ease). I can own a shotgun or rifle (not a full auto).

My turn.
I can wear a t-shirt that says my Prime Minister sucks to a rally he his holding and I won't be told to leave, nor will the Diplomatic Protection Squad tell me to leave.

Isn't life exciting>

I honestly don't know what life is like there. But here sometimes shit happens and there isn't a cop around to intervene. Because I acknowledge this reality it makes me glad I carry. I have never had to pull my gun on anyone and for that I'm grateful, but if the situation ever arises, I will be armed and and I have the freedom to do what it takes to protect myself. I don't think a rifle or shotgun would fit in my purse so I'm thankful for US laws that allow me to carry a small semi-auto handgun.

I don't know what would happen here. Maybe you have some insight... FWIW, if a US citizen can't do that I think we suck.
