I check out BuzzFeed for light stuff so I was some surprised – and impressed – with this article that very clearly delineates how the process works. It explains how SCOTUS will deal with a 4-4 tie and what the options are for selecting a new Associate Justice. Take the time to read it @ Everything You Need To Know About What Happens Now With The Supreme Court and share it with others.

Some of the points:

What happens if the court voted 5-4, but hadn’t issued an opinion yet, and Scalia was in the majority?

What happens to the major cases that haven’t had oral arguments yet?

Could Obama make a recess appointment?

Are there any names that people think are more likely?

And this piece takes the replacement a step further with some interesting and informative information – Did Justice Scalia Already Give Us the Solution to the Problem of Filling His Seat? Read more: Articles: Did Justice Scalia Already Give Us the Solution to the Problem of Filling His Seat?

LOL. Well, when Hillary or Bernie take office, they will be nominating at least a couple more SCJ's in the next eight years. And the Senate will have a Democratic Majority. LOL
