Nice dictator-ish move by Trump

I was wondering when I'd see the first use of that twisted rationale. When people voted their pocketbooks do you really think it was a tacit approval of trump bypassing the "advise and consent" function the Senate traditionally performs and allow trump to name cabinet appointees without confirmation hearings?
Glad, I could be the first. Like it or not, the voting electorate gave a significant approval, to Trump and the Trump agenda, along with the legislative votes, to allow it to be carried out. About the only thing, Republicans wanted, but didn't get much of was approval to ban abortions. The electorate votes. The electorate voted. Just like in 2020, there was little or no cheating, that would have changed the result, winning Presidency in the polls, electoral college, US House, US Senate. Like it or not, a decision was made in this election. Try to make peace with it, until actually harmed (at least), otherwise, simply sounding as a sore loser, as the Trump party was after 2020. It is a conservative, pragmatic approach, recognizing "Reality is Real". I am nobody, but my advice in the meantime, is, if there is nothing you can do, do nothing.

So he doesn't want Biden rushing in a bunch of appointments, yet they did just that in their last few weeks in office. Also, he wants the senate to go on a 10 day 'recess', the minimum required for recess appointments, which do not require senate hearings, etc.

Oh yeah, Trump is a dictator, he has no use for the senate, the supreme court and whatever levers he can pull to give him absolute power or anything in that direction, he's going to take it. This is not a man to whom one could attribute the concept of 'good faith' to, no, this is a bad actor, all the way.

Any Republican Senator seeking the coveted LEADERSHIP position in the United States Senate must agree to Recess Appointments (in the Senate!), without which we will not be able to get people confirmed in a timely manner. Sometimes the votes can take two years, or more. This is what they did four years ago, and we cannot let it happen again. We need positions filled IMMEDIATELY! Additionally, no Judges should be approved during this period of time because the Democrats are looking to ram through their Judges as the Republicans fight over Leadership. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THANK YOU! -- DJT

Not only is it acceptable, count on it. You're not president, yet, nor do you have a majority in the Senate, yet. So, Biden, get to work with those appointments!!!

You're an insurrectionist.

Authoritarian rule dictates there can be no other authority other than the executive.

When people voted their pocketbooks, I am guessing they could care less about this.

If he's done something wrong, it should be challenged.

If you simply don't like it, don't nominate a moron to the head of your ticket to take the place of the Celery Stalk you want to replace.

Trump will get obstruction of he tries to pervert the set rules of procedure.

Any thoughts of your own not given to you by Rachel?

she is completely misrepresenting what Trump said in that post....it's rather amazing.

Trump said nothing about what Democrats should or shouldn't do in that post

It's the Schumer Rule

How’s he avoiding it? He has a right to encourage the senate not to approve his appointments, and the senate doesn’t have to

He never told xiden he couldn’t make any lame duck nominations

He expressed his disapproval, and he told the Senate of what he wanted them to do. Since he is president elect, they will not take that as an 'opinion' but as a 'directive'. he has NO: right to meddle in the affairs of government (given that he is so capable, as president elect), until he takes office, in my opinion.

If we still had the Republic as envisioned by the founders? Yeah, you are probably correct.

OTH? As most see it, we are now a democracy run by an oligarchy.

What is the best way to remedy that?

Well, if the Senate had acted on good faith as the founders wanted, they would have convicted him during his impeachments, the evidence was clear, yet they chose to be partisan (they did the right thing during Nixon, so there is no reason why the system couldn't work as it should have worked) and then we wouldn't be having this conversation. Also, the SC would have ruled that he committed an insurrection, and until the 14th amendment, is disqualified to take office. See, a democracy is only as good as the good faith intent of it's members. Other than that, there is no solution. EVery democracy is subject to malintent by bad actors.

He told republicans what he wanted. Which is what he can do.

Of course he had a right to, we all do as Americans.

What a fascist thing to suggest that we have no right to meddle in the affairs of govt! Geez

Yet here are doing exactly that.

DURRRRRR
Well, allow me to clarify the term 'engage'. By my use of that term, I mean to continue in a rational discourse in such a way as to move the discussion forward, either by confirmation/agreement, constructive discussion, and/or debate. Explaining that "I do not engage with morons', does not equal 'forwarding the discourse'.

Are we clear on that point?
