He is a mega donor with no military experience. He is an art collector and private equity guy. If he wanted to give this guy a appointment to reward him for his election help give him some toy nomination, ambassador to some inconsequential country, it shouldn't be the navy. China is looking to invade Taiwan at any time, the navy needs to be run by trusted, respected military men.
Trump is supposed to be outside of these tactics. He is going to give a gift to the Dems for the midterms and beyond with such nominations so that they can get back in power and do precisely what he is doing but along gender, racial and sexual orientation lines.

No, it is really not. Most really good SECDEFs and service Secretaries have very little experience in the military. Recent examples like Trump's and Biden's former generals as SECDEF have proven it is not a good idea.This is a military position though, this is different.

Prattling much?Nothing says "Drain the Swamp" like hiring a long-time lobbyist as Chief of Staff, who's made it big by being in and playing the center of The Swamp. She'll be sure to drain it...
Too, with her boss being the only one in the admin who's not bound by an ethics code will sure make her job easier...

Not really. There was a time when being in the military was a real gem compared to minimum wage jobs.

No it's not. Sec positions are.civillian positions. Granted I think former military personelle would be best, but I don't believe it's a requirement.This is a military position though, this is different.
