Will the United States again respect Science?

WHAT havoc??? There is no "havoc."
No scientific authority, nor the Department of Defense, nor the Department of Agriculture, nor any agency concerned with floods, droughts, forest fires, and a plethora of other disasters attendant upon climes change shares your denial.

Major Companies Call on Biden to Act on Climate Change
Utilities, banks and car makers signed a statement urging the President-elect
and Congress to enact ambitious climate policy

Climate change deniers may soon have to merge with flat-earthers.

Of course they do because it's been addressed dishonestly.
You are free to enlighten the international community informed by every climatological research institution on the planet of your unique, ideologically-derived insights.

Good luck with that.
Like it or not world scientists are not as accepting of hysteria as they once were. The benchmarks of global warming have never materialized. Snow was supposed to have disappeared from Europe by now.

This is following the same path of predictions as global cooling did in the 70s. Both of which are nonsense.

Could it be that there is federal assistance requested to help fight all this climate change?

Sure, no snow, glaciers all gone, polar bears extinct, beach houses all sunk beneath the waves ---- the longer this goes on, the sillier the global warming people look.

As for the 70s, I totally believed that then. I was younger -- and I took the magazine SCIENCE (they capitalized it), where every other article looked like the movie "Day After Tomorrow" where the world is covered by deep snow and sub-zero. That went on for 3-4 years, IIRC, and when it was over, I stopped believing in scientists as I had before. They just wanted to make themselves important and get grant money ---- and they were dead wrong.

And are dead wrong about a lot of things today.

It's all about getting the money. For ten years the world was going to end in twelve years. It's still going to end in twelve years.

Climate change is supposed to act as a giant wealth transfer to third world countries to compensate them for something. For purposes of wealth transfer India and China are considered third world.

IMO it's a little more than that. Democrats don't do anything unless it advances them personally or politically.

Our politicians (particularly on the left) have been trying to gain more and more control over the people. The two vestiges stopping them is total control over healthcare and energy. Once government is able to control those two entities, they will have the ability to have total control over all of us.

If you think about it, nearly every action we take during a normal day has to do with energy or our health. In our system of government, they cannot come in with guns drawn and takeover these things. We still have a Constitution. The only way to accomplish their goal is if we beg them to take over these problems for us. The only way to do that is brainwash us they are a problem, or make them a problem.

So now the end of the world is near because of climate change. Forget about the trillions of dollars we already put towards it. Forget after all we've done, things are worse now than ever. Just let government takeover energy, and climate change will magically disappear.

Your blind faith in your failed casino operator and faded reality-tv entertainer is noted.

Fortunately, the American People, by a margin of 7 million votes, have issued an eviction notice. Your demigod must vacate the public housing they had provided.

Also, the international community's commitment to confronting anthropogenic climate change (that is, assuredly, not a Chinese hoax as crackpots may imagine) bodes well for all but the hardcore ideologues in the defeated Cult of Trumpery.

Can the anti-science zealots cite even one credentialed climatologist still in denial?

F the world and what foreign scientists think. What they know is that if they have the ability to control our industry, they have the ability to strip US jobs away and go to their country. As I already pointed out, green is not free. Green costs a lot of money. Infect our business and industry with all these green costs, they move the hell out of this country. That's what other countries want.

If you polled Americans today, would they approve of lower gasoline prices or higher prices?

Most Americans recognize the global threat from anthropogenic climate change and the need to confront it.

That reality is not related to their preference that gasoline, Twinkies, jewelry, bathroom fixures, and beer all be cheaper rather than more expensive.

Most Americans recognize the global threat from anthropogenic climate change and the need to confront it.

And how much are most Americans willing to spend to fix it?

If you rely upon your link to an ideological propaganda source, you will be fed what climate change denialists need to eat.

I am not aware of any time when climatologists were accepting of whatever "hysteria" you claim.

Currently, the global community - with the conspicuous exceptions of Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Libya, Angola, Sudan, Yemen, and Eritrea and Trump, - informed by the most advanced climatological data, recognize and have committed to confronting anthropogenic climate change.

He has yet to convince the National Aeronautics and Space Administration among other federal entities that must be responsible in preparing the nation for the consequences.

If you are able to transcend ideology and embrace science, this may help you progress:

As with other disciplines, Americans have been subjected to a contempt for the science of climatology that has festered in the highest echelons of government recently.

The stark disparity between reality and crackpot notions has dire ramifications, and no, ingesting disinfectants will not protect you from the ravages of unchecked fossil fuel consumption.
Climate change is making people sick and leading to premature death, according to a pair of influential reports on the connections between global warming and health.

Scientists from the World Meteorological Organization released a preliminary report on the global climate which shows that the last decade was the warmest on record and that millions of people were affected by wildfires, floods and extreme heat this year on top of the global pandemic.

Separately, a sprawling analysis published Wednesday by the medical research journal The Lancet focuses on public health data from 2019, and finds that heat waves, air pollution and extreme weather increasingly damage human health. It is the most comprehensive annual report yet on the nexus of climate and health, and is routinely cited by climate policymakers. The authors include dozens of physicians and public health experts from around the world.

Both reports make an explicit connection between death, disease and burning fossil fuels.

This foolishness has not only been an embarrassment for the United States that has surrendered leadership in the global crisis. It is a perverse refutation that will have severe economic impact, provoke mass migrations, and destroy quality of life for humans as well as other species.

Will the nation step up to face this enormous challenge that is already wreaking havoc?

Not if biden becomes President....science will remain just one more weapon used by the democrats to increase their power and control.

Hey, moron......there used to be mile high glaciers where I am sitting and they all melted long before man showed up on the planet....

You cultists who want to surrender your freedom and prosperity to the priesthood of man made global warming are fools.....the high priests preach sacrifice, on your part, while they buy mansions on the coasts and travel in private jets...

You are the fool, not us.

What are your scholastic credentials?
My education in the U.S. and the U.K. has resulted in my respect for analytical data and consensus in its expert objective analysis.

Some may believe that experiencing casino bankruptcies and performing on a reality-tv show is essential to expertise in climatology, of course. I lack both. I do have a decided preference for scientists over ideologues in matters of science.

The U.S. has regressed in science in recent years, and it will be a challenge to re-establish global leadership:

... Activists who hope climate change will play a central role in the new administration cheered the news, but both Kerry and Biden have their work cut out for them. After four years under Trump, the Biden Administration inherits a badly bruised international reputation. Trump repeatedly denied the science of climate change, rolled back dozens of environmental and emissions-reduction regulations, and earned the derision of nearly 200 nations who co-signed the Paris Agreement on climate change when he announced the United States’s withdrawal from the pact six months after taking office.
With the U.S. retreat, the European Union and China came to occupy central leadership roles...

It won't be easy, and there are those who are hellbent upon holding the nation back, but we must abandon the crackpot notions as a patriotic requisite. Otherwise, the United States will be regarded as very, very silly internationally.

The concept of global was created by and for the Chinese
in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.

I've been in the real world for 40 years and I know who to talk to to know how studies are actually carried out.

What's the downside to being unable to convince the world that we're "serious" on climate?

Because schmidlap is probably one of the recipients of our tax dollars.
Perhaps the Janitor In Chief.
