I think it was a Dem that made the saying famous, but, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.", but both sides do it and live by it. Sorry if I skimmed your post, responding as if you said something out of character. No, I'm not saying that at all. I'm just pointing out the dishonesty of Republicans suggesting that they're interested in infrastructure when they really aren't. In fact, they're historically against it.
Tough sell, to those not living in coastal areas.president Biden just did an infrastructure law. What we need to prepare for is climate change extreme weather events.
They sure didn't help improve the situation. In california it appears that wacko greenies are most to blame for the fires raging out of control
Yeah....The media will try to save him to run for president in 2028.
The latter might be easier than the former, as groundwork is lain. Not that I think it will be destroyed on his watch, only damaged further. So you don't think Trump could have gotten away with it, yet you think he can 'destroy democracy'.![]()

Yes, Republicans are historically against new or improved infrastructure. They and Dems prefer something new, they can see as immediately beneficial and 'New" for where their tax dollars are spent.
I am just glad we got the updated I-40 upgrades built going through our town. It is fantastic! Thanks, Joe.BOTH party politicians are not so good about updating existing infrastructure.
I'll agree there.
Biden's "Build back better" program was supposed to be an infrastructure update and improvement plan that got eaten alive by DEI and social agenda programs. (Nothing built, money went to social welfare like studying transgender monkeys) He in truth only renaming a few Republican championed infrastructure programs like Obama did.
That was state money for those upgrades....some federal but mostly state. Done deal back before covid.I am just glad we got the updated I-40 upgrades built going through our town. It is fantastic! Thanks, Joe.
Already needed and planned, maybe, but not implemented. Tennessee is hardly the king state of free spending on infrastructure. A lot of things just came together at the right time with Joe's infrastructure bill, including business expansion in the region, not to be overlooked, that came around the same time. What is different is the speed at which the project came together, construction started and completed, along with Federal financing became available. We have traveled on vacation, seeing other large projects in other states, slowly progressing, completion nowhere in sight, year after year as major project done on the "never never" plan. Never finished but never emptying in the coffers, due to the slow pace, "pay as you go" plan. This large project was decidedly different. Tennessee spent the Federal dollars on this one, quickly and efficiently, for a change. That was state money for those upgrades....some federal but mostly state. Done deal back before covid.
With constant extreme weather events you would think people would use their critical thinking skills.Tough sell, to those not living in coastal areas.
Individuals use critical thinking skills, people as a group, not so much. With constant extreme weather events you would think people would use their critical thinking skills.
Yes, because the primary ingredient is actually asbestos.....a fire retardant.Asphalt shingles are actually thought of as good against fires spreading, per the Google.
A reminder, those mountain forest areas remain mountain forest areas areas because they are pretty pretty unreachable, being mountains and all. Clearing that out is basically impossible, else there would be 100,000 houses through there instead.
In the case of the present California wildfires, I don’t believe we have the necessary technology yet invented to deal with those problems. It seems that whatever the disaster is, fire, flood, hurricane, tornado, whatever, we are unprepared. Curious.
OOooooooo Bluto in with some more lies and blow.In the case of the present California wildfires, I don’t believe we have the necessary technology yet invented to deal with those problems.
Still, it would be amazing if our government(s) displayed any actual foresight. California could have spent money on things like fire protection instead of DEI nonsense. It could have cleared lots of dead, dry brush etc instead of giving those taxpayer dollars to illegal aliens.
I suspect the idiots in the Newscum Administration knew this, and have known it for a long time. But t they opted for meaningless political theater over common sense.
Let's apply that thinking to wildfires.
Defensible space is a thing. It's saves property from burning.Asphalt shingles are actually thought of as good against fires spreading, per the Google.
