As a literal Boomer who grew up in a military family then served a career myself learned in the 1960s and moving forward, survival training was a large part of my experiences.
Survival training isn't just about bigger guns or being able make a shelter in the wilderness. It's about forethought and preparation.
The Red Cross recommends people living in areas subject to natural disasters to have up to two weeks of supplies. I go with the two week plan, but circumstances vary for all Americans. We do the best we can.
The Red Cross recommends that you store essential items in an emergency supply kit so you are prepared to sustain your household for a minimum of three days and for up to two weeks. Keep these supplies in an easy to-carry container that you can use at home or easily take with you in case you must evacuate. Ensure your kit is stocked with supplies for each person and pet in your household.
FWIW, during the great Toilet Paper Crisis of 2020, my wife and I were fine. We even gave a few rolls out for relatives.
