The biggest "problem" in the officer corps is that the culture rewards those who blindly do what they are told to do, hoping to make their bosses look good. On the battlefield, that might be a good thing, but in normal practice (98% of military activity), it leads to bad decision-making.
The Officer corps was told several years ago that their performance ratings would be significantly impacted by their enthusiasm for DEI and similar bullshit. Instead of pushing back and jeopardizing their efficiency reports, the just did it. Now the officer corps is infested with wimmin and POC's who are not qualified either technically or temperamentally for the positions of authority that they hold.
The same is true in big city police departments.
God Bless President Trump for trying to stop the nonsense and return to merit-based promotions.
