What's next after this 2 trillion dollar pork bill, how about 3 trillion more?

Why not? No one has cared about the debt for years so why start now?
Not sure what you are talking about....we have been trying to get a second covid relief package passed for sometime....the left refused over and over again to compromise on their massive spending bill, mitch and the gop were concerned at the massive bill and offered packages that were focused just on covid offering much less..so they were certainly concerned.
Under Mitch we passed a bill that gave Tom Brady a million dollars.
Really? Tom got a million dollar check from the US Govt? Can I see the link?
Tom Brady's health and wellness company received a $1 million PPP loan.
So his small business got a PPP loan, not Tom himself? What's your point? PPP was met for business to keep employees on their payroll and stay in business.

Good that was the point of the PPP program.....does the dems bill not have the widely popular PPP?
Do you really think Tom needed 1 million from the taxpayers to stay in business?

Now do people on the street need help to simply pay their rent?
I don't think Tom the individual did....and he likely didn't get the $1200 check. The small business, which is a different entity then Tom Brady the person, might have....and well sounds like he did.

I guess by your logic, anyone with money, that has a business shouldn't have taken PPP loans because well, they could have used the personal money to fund the business.

Which seems to defeat the purpose
I don't think it defeats the purpose since the money is for those who are in dire need. The idea is for the business owner to put his money back into the business
to keep it whole or borrow from a bank. I had to do that. However, many business owners have been operating on a string today.
True....and the point of the PPP was so you didn't have to borrow from a bank....you'd get a loan from the Govt, and a forgivable loan if you keep your employees on payroll.

I literally, and the poster I was responding to, has zero idea if Tom actually ponied up MORE of his personal money

You could also buy yourself a million dollar yacht and pay like 1% in interest.........all while students continue to pay above going rates.

If we can give a multi millionaire a million more I am not going to complain about regular people getting whatever they get.
We didn't give Tom Brady a million bucks....your own link says it went to a company of his, a company that employed people, people that needed to keep their jobs.

Do you not understand the difference between an individual, and a company they mgiht be a part of? This was a small business at that.

What I find upsetting about the Dems new bill...is they are giving their donors in Silican Valley, a tunnel....it including building a tunnel for their rich donors.....I mean come on!

Small businesses, and their employees like the one Tom has, is really impacted by all this ...Silicon Valley isn't...and what the heck does building them a tunnel have to do with Covid??
Do you really think Tom Brady need a million dollars to keep his business afloat?

But you prove another point. The PPP added millions and millions to the debt and here you are defending it and people say people care about the debt. Obviously you do not.
I have no idea what sort of stuff his business does or the number of employees etc....so maybe...

Of course it did, but the alternative was to do nothing and allow millions people to be unemployed, businesses to shut down, and likely never recover...and thus losing a massive tax base.

the PPP was a good program to help deal with crisis that was the Chinese Virus.....the dems adding building a tunnel for their donors in Silcon Valley is a bad and horrible idea and undo burden to our debt. The GOP pushing to keep that out shows they care about the debt

However much is necessary to destroy the US dollar and everyone’s savings.
Wouldn’t have been necessary if Trump had come through on his promise to reinvest in infrastructure.

I guess tax cuts for wealthy Americans was just more important than helping out average Americans.
He provided Americans with the lowest unemployment we had ever seen. That’s how you “help out” Americans.
Yeah, holding 2 jobs to make ends meet.

No he didn't, he just didn't screw up unemployment. The trend on unemployment started long before he came into office.

Then call for a roll back of every tax cut bill since the Reagan administration. You do know it has been the borrowing of money, and the interest accrued on that borrowing, to make up for the cut in revenues, that is the main factor for that $27 trillion debt right?

You do know that right?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Looking beyond the $1.9 trillion COVID relief bill, President Joe Biden and lawmakers are laying the groundwork for another top legislative priority — a long-sought boost to the nation’s roads, bridges and other infrastructure that could run into Republican resistance to a hefty price tag.

Biden and his team have begun discussions on the possible outlines of an infrastructure package with members of Congress, particularly mindful that Texas’ recent struggles with power outages and water shortages after a brutal winter storm present an opportunity for agreement on sustained spending on infrastructure.

Democrats passed a $1.5 trillion package in the House last year, but it went nowhere with the Trump administration and the Republican-led Senate. A Senate panel approved narrower bipartisan legislation in 2019 focused on reauthorizing federal transportation programs. It, too, flamed out as the U.S. turned its focus to elections and COVID-19.

Biden has talked bigger numbers, and some Democrats are now urging him to bypass Republicans in the closely divided Congress to address a broader range of priorities urged by interest groups.

During the presidential campaign, Biden pledged to deploy $2 trillion on infrastructure and clean energy, but the White House has not ruled out an even higher price tag. McCarthy said Biden’s upcoming plan will specifically aim at job creation, such as with investments to boost “workers that have been left behind” by closed coal mines or power plants, as well as communities located near polluting refineries and other hazards.

DeFazio said General Motors’ recently announced goal of going largely electric by 2035 demonstrates the need for massive spending on charging stations across the country. Biden campaigned on a plan to install 500,000 charging stations by the end of 2030.

It's been written about that the Covid bill is around 90% pork that has nothing to do with the actual virus itself. Billions of dollars for nonsense like mass transit in Piglosi's state as well as a bridge to Canada in Shoemakers state. Now it's time to spend more money catering to their construction union supporters.

With the Republicans virtually helpless to control spending, we could very well find ourselves with a 4 to 5 trillion dollar additional debt within the first few months under this administration, mostly pandering to unions, environmentalists, and a host of Democrat loyalists. 500,000 charging stations by 2030? At this rate, the US will be Venezuela by then.
Oh yawn. Do you have a total lack of knowledge of economics? Have you even taken Econ 101? Electricity is the future, green and renewable sources of energy are replacing jobs in Coal and Petroleum; not replacing, rebuilding and repairing our nation's infrastructure in not fiscally responsible. With more high paying blue collar and technology jobs more money will circulate and the tax fraud of 2017 will need to be modified; modified by adding more than the two top brackets deleted by the lame duck Congress led by Ryan and signed by trump and eliminating the cuts to Corporate America when some don't pay a penny in income tax.

If the Republicans' have their way, we will see another housing crisis, more homeless, more unemployment and a greater divide between the haves and the have nots.

I don't support it, it exist....frankly I'm over the Hamilton mindset and understand that the Fed should and can have a reasonable amount of debt....but we are beyond that.....that's why I am in favor of legislation for Covid relief that is limited to Covid relief, and not bailouts for donors like the Dems, or a wish list for all other sorts of things.

How is building a tunnel in Silcon Valley helping people with Covid? Why are you then against helping the employees at TB12? Apparently there is roughtly 50 people employed there...should they have been laid off? Frankly, if they were, the TB12 has to pay the loan back, so not sure what you are whining about

Tell me then, are you against Biden and the Dems second relief bill? Since it includes things like building a tunnel in SIlcon Valley?

The US is being forced into green energy against our will and using our tax dollars. We did fantastic under Trump using fossil fuels. If there was the slightest advantage in using green energy, government wouldn't need to subsidize it.

So why are we going to dump trillions of dollars into green energy nobody wants? Because they totally support the Democrat party. It would be the same if we were in power and wrote a bill for gun manufacturing subsides so more Americans could buy a firearm for self-defense.

This is what happens when kids with an unlimited credit card run amok- and make no mistake, R and D subscribe to it- they both borrow to spend- it seems to be in the DNA of ALL the employees in the District of Criminals-
Yep, the spending is out of control and nobody cares. Just print more and stick our kids and our grandkids with the bill. Meanwhile there is no effort to reduce the massive numbers of Federal workers being paid in tax dollars to play memo tag. There are over 2 million Federal employees and over 3 million Federal pensioners.

Exactly they were quiet as hell when Trump was running up the deficit, now all of a sudden they are fiscal republicans again. Smfh.
Much of that deficit was for our military and taking less from businesses that created the super economy we had until Joe's buddies in China sent us their disease. The Democrats on the other hand are spending trillions to repay their supporters.

I've condemed the Dems packages!

Yes, I made an excuse for a relief package...that being Covid.

So let me get this straight, because you are all over the place....you don't support any Covid Relief package now? None what so ever?

Sorry, I can't take that position.....but I am certainly taking a position that whatever the package is, it be limited to Covid Relief, not massive pork spending, or used to hold Americans hostage to try and get other wishes though...like paying back donors in SIlcon Valley

Maybe quit destroying things all around the world and then paying to rebuild it?
What things did we destroy, and what does that have to do with this ridiculous spending suggestion by Biden?
