What's next after this 2 trillion dollar pork bill, how about 3 trillion more?

Why not? No one has cared about the debt for years so why start now?
Not sure what you are talking about....we have been trying to get a second covid relief package passed for sometime....the left refused over and over again to compromise on their massive spending bill, mitch and the gop were concerned at the massive bill and offered packages that were focused just on covid offering much less..so they were certainly concerned.
Under Mitch we passed a bill that gave Tom Brady a million dollars.
Really? Tom got a million dollar check from the US Govt? Can I see the link?
Tom Brady's health and wellness company received a $1 million PPP loan.
So his small business got a PPP loan, not Tom himself? What's your point? PPP was met for business to keep employees on their payroll and stay in business.

Good that was the point of the PPP program.....does the dems bill not have the widely popular PPP?
Do you really think Tom needed 1 million from the taxpayers to stay in business?

Now do people on the street need help to simply pay their rent?
I don't think Tom the individual did....and he likely didn't get the $1200 check. The small business, which is a different entity then Tom Brady the person, might have....and well sounds like he did.

I guess by your logic, anyone with money, that has a business shouldn't have taken PPP loans because well, they could have used the personal money to fund the business.

Which seems to defeat the purpose
If we can give a multi millionaire a million more I am not going to complain about regular people getting whatever they get.
We didn't give Tom Brady a million bucks....your own link says it went to a company of his, a company that employed people, people that needed to keep their jobs.

Do you not understand the difference between an individual, and a company they mgiht be a part of? This was a small business at that.

What I find upsetting about the Dems new bill...is they are giving their donors in Silican Valley, a tunnel....it including building a tunnel for their rich donors.....I mean come on!

Small businesses, and their employees like the one Tom has, is really impacted by all this ...Silicon Valley isn't...and what the heck does building them a tunnel have to do with Covid??
Do you really think Tom Brady need a million dollars to keep his business afloat?

But you prove another point. The PPP added millions and millions to the debt and here you are defending it and people say people care about the debt. Obviously you do not.
I have no idea what sort of stuff his business does or the number of employees etc....so maybe...

Of course it did, but the alternative was to do nothing and allow millions people to be unemployed, businesses to shut down, and likely never recover...and thus losing a massive tax base.

the PPP was a good program to help deal with crisis that was the Chinese Virus.....the dems adding building a tunnel for their donors in Silcon Valley is a bad and horrible idea and undo burden to our debt. The GOP pushing to keep that out shows they care about the debt
You support debt so don't pretend you care about the debt. I support helping people and you call me a communist. You support giant socialist programs and pretend they are not.
I don't support it, it exist....
You made excuses for it. You support it. If you didn't support it you would have simply condemned it.
I've condemed the Dems packages!

Yes, I made an excuse for a relief package...that being Covid.

So let me get this straight, because you are all over the place....you don't support any Covid Relief package now? None what so ever?

Sorry, I can't take that position.....but I am certainly taking a position that whatever the package is, it be limited to Covid Relief, not massive pork spending, or used to hold Americans hostage to try and get other wishes though...like paying back donors in SIlcon Valley
I don't support those who supported them under Trump but now don't under Biden even though Trump called for $2000.

I don't support those who condemn the fluff when it was there under Trump also.

If you want to condemn the packages because they add to the debt, do so. I won't argue with you but condemn them all and those who signed off on them.

Maybe quit destroying things all around the world and then paying to rebuild it?
What things did we destroy, and what does that have to do with this ridiculous spending suggestion by Biden?
I answered a question. If you are unable to understand that, maybe because you deleted the question, I can not help you.

I agree totally, and the Republicans did not control spending under Trump. Quite to the contrary. However, infrastructure repair is crucial for our country which is in process of falling apart. Needed jobs will be created and are indeed much needed.
What to do? Got me. Any ideas?
We don't need to retrofit the entire country for green energy we don't want because that's the Democrats way to payback environmentalists for their support. DumBama did the same thing, and when asked, he said those shovel ready jobs were not shovel ready. So what happened to all those hundreds of billions we went into debt to supposedly fix the infrastructure?

I am fine with a $2K check to those that qualify just like Trump supported. That's not the issue.

The GOP in the Senate blocked Nancy's bill and tried to work with her, she refused....Trump bent even more, to try and get relief done, Nancy wouldn't bend....

I don't know of anyone that has said a Covid Relief package shouldn't be passed because of the debt.....I've only heard people condemn the Dems package because it adds unnecessaryly to the debt, and is being used as a way to add wish list, and donor bailouts.....a cheaper package focused on Covid Relief should be passed....but the Dems refuse to do that.

So you agree, you want the GOP to shut down the Dems package right?

He bought it up in a couple of SOTU's.
I’m sure he got great applause for doing so.

Which is all that he really cares about.

The actual work is someone else’s job.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Looking beyond the $1.9 trillion COVID relief bill, President Joe Biden and lawmakers are laying the groundwork for another top legislative priority — a long-sought boost to the nation’s roads, bridges and other infrastructure that could run into Republican resistance to a hefty price tag.

Biden and his team have begun discussions on the possible outlines of an infrastructure package with members of Congress, particularly mindful that Texas’ recent struggles with power outages and water shortages after a brutal winter storm present an opportunity for agreement on sustained spending on infrastructure.

Democrats passed a $1.5 trillion package in the House last year, but it went nowhere with the Trump administration and the Republican-led Senate. A Senate panel approved narrower bipartisan legislation in 2019 focused on reauthorizing federal transportation programs. It, too, flamed out as the U.S. turned its focus to elections and COVID-19.

Biden has talked bigger numbers, and some Democrats are now urging him to bypass Republicans in the closely divided Congress to address a broader range of priorities urged by interest groups.

During the presidential campaign, Biden pledged to deploy $2 trillion on infrastructure and clean energy, but the White House has not ruled out an even higher price tag. McCarthy said Biden’s upcoming plan will specifically aim at job creation, such as with investments to boost “workers that have been left behind” by closed coal mines or power plants, as well as communities located near polluting refineries and other hazards.

DeFazio said General Motors’ recently announced goal of going largely electric by 2035 demonstrates the need for massive spending on charging stations across the country. Biden campaigned on a plan to install 500,000 charging stations by the end of 2030.

It's been written about that the Covid bill is around 90% pork that has nothing to do with the actual virus itself. Billions of dollars for nonsense like mass transit in Piglosi's state as well as a bridge to Canada in Shoemakers state. Now it's time to spend more money catering to their construction union supporters.

With the Republicans virtually helpless to control spending, we could very well find ourselves with a 4 to 5 trillion dollar additional debt within the first few months under this administration, mostly pandering to unions, environmentalists, and a host of Democrat loyalists. 500,000 charging stations by 2030? At this rate, the US will be Venezuela by then.
I'll take 40 acres and mule.

I don't know where you get your info from...Trump maybe? Green energy is coming and is necessary. You spelled Obama's name incorrectly, so try to be an adult.
Congress would not approve anything for Obama except to fill the bowl with pork.
The pork was somewhat ok since it put money into the economy, which started to improve under Obama and which was well on its way when Trump took office.
Fossil fuel will always be a part of our lives.

Well yeah...contrary to what the left wants, the USA is not a dictatorship...the President can't just create and enact an infructure bill on his own....it takes Congress...both chambers to do the work in creating one and getting it to his desk.

In Feb of 2018, Trump proposed a plan to Congress, $200 billion in federal funding and $1.5 trillion from the private sector. Democrats opposed this plan because of its emphasis on state and local funding and private investments....and they were still to focused on overturning the 2016 election

Trump again met with Dem leaders at the Oval Office, in the Spring of 2019....but the Dems wouldn't pass the replacement, agreement for NAFTA, because they didn't want to give Trump a win....so it failed...mind you later Biden admitted it was a much much better deal then NAFTA...but the Dems continued to play politics and were still trying to overturn the 2016 election

So, it's not as if Trump wasn't working and trying....it's just when one party, the DNC, put party over country....it's hard to get much done

True...but that was one piece of the relief package...the Dems were asking for two trillion, mainly to their pet projects and donor bailouts.....and wouldn't move for months..months....they wouldn't come to any agreement until after the election, which Trump was happy to sign to help hurting Americans. the President can't just create and enact an infructure bill on his own
I’m not suggesting he do it himself.

I’m saying he should have done the work to engage Congress to make it happen. That means negotiation and making compromise.

Turns out Trump is really garbage at negotiation or he just doesn’t give a damn.

The only disagreement at that point was the amount of stimulus for the people. Trump and Pelosi agreed on $2000. Mitch said no.

I am fine with a $2K check to those that qualify just like Trump supported. That's not the issue.

The GOP in the Senate blocked Nancy's bill and tried to work with her, she refused....Trump bent even more, to try and get relief done, Nancy wouldn't bend....
Trump and Nancy was on the same side. They both wanted $2000. Mitch said no and it was $600.

If they decided to shut down the government over spending, I would support that.
True...but that was one piece of the relief package...the Dems were asking for two trillion, mainly to their pet projects and donor bailouts.....and wouldn't move for months..months....they wouldn't come to any agreement until after the election, which Trump was happy to sign to help hurting Americans. The Dems held the American people hostage for months to hurt the President....party over country....the DNC way
The only disagreement at that point was the amount of stimulus for the people. Trump and Pelosi agreed on $2000. Mitch said no.
mitch said no to all the other pork in the bill,,
the least you could do is be honest,,,

the President can't just create and enact an infructure bill on his own
I’m not suggesting he do it himself.

I’m saying he should have done the work to engage Congress to make it happen. That means negotiation and making compromise.

Turns out Trump is really garbage at negotiation or he just doesn’t give a damn.
I provide you evidence in my post that he did do just that.....but the Dems wouldn't work with him

yeah maybe...but frankly I dont think, or really anyone, that the Dems were willing to burn everything down, and put their party before the needs of the country

NO they were fighting over all the pork in the Dems bill......because the GOP was concerned about the Debt.....the Dems only came around AFTER the election.

They held the American people hostage and attempted to extort from the Tres to bailout their comrades that have mismanaged their states with Dem policies for years....and to make Trump look bad during the election.
