American troops and materials brought a quicker end to it but the defeat for Hitler was inevitable and would have happen if we never went into France or Italy.

It would have better for the US to concentrate on kicking the Japs ass and stayed out of sending troops to Europe. Meanwhile continue with the Manhattan Project and be in a stronger position at the end of the war.
