Trump goes after Sessions over GOP congressmen indictments

The Department of Justice is not in place to help elect Republicans. When Republicans break laws, they should be prosecuted, not protected.

Trump seems to think that a building full of lawyers is there to protect him and his favorites.

And the Trumpians seem to think that too.

So.....a man implicated in two felonies is trying to dictate to the Attorney General who he should indict

trump has lost his mind....the orange dye has permeated his skull...
Tell us who Trump told him to indict.

Trump did complain that the DOJ did not wait until after the election to indict them, as if elections should dictate the actions of the justice system.

And you sheep are cool with that

That's not what I asked.

I doubt Sessions is taking Trump's rant too seriously. The guy knows it is nothing more an effort to help in a small way to deflect the cause for his eventual firing away from the Mueller. Hard to imagine the lack of self respect one will require to step into Session's shoes. It'll have to be somebody that's quite the ass kisser.

Happier days: Sen. Jeff Sessions endorses Trump

But that is the topic of the thread, why do you want to ignore it?

idn tell anyone to indict anyone.

Trump is complaining that the indictments came down prior to the mid terms.

The Justice Department indicts based on facts following investigations. The Justice Department should be apolitical.

I didn't say you did.

Yes, he is addressing the timing of the indictments.

I agree. So where are the indictments (or even investigations) of Comey, Strzok, Brenner, and the rest of the FBI and DOJ officials who clearly used their positions to illegally spy on a presidential candidate for the purpose of affecting the outcome of an election? Congress has to do the AG's job for him because he feels the need to recuse himself when it comes to investigating Democrats. Perhaps Sessions should be investigated.

Not in Trump's view. The Justice Department is his own brute squad per Trump. And he's furious that the Justice Department is enforcing the laws apolitically rather than going after his political enemies and delaying prosecution of his political allies.

Can't wait for the day when the little bitch named Sessions gets fired ...

And in yet another loathsome demonstration of corruption, Trump rages at Sessions because the Justice Department *didn't* put politics before enforcing the law.

And his sheep cheered and said “hell yeah, party before country”

No, you don't agree. As you're demanding that Sessions go after Trump's political enemies. While ignoring the fact that Trump is calling on Sessions to apply politics to the timing of his investigations.

And your conspiracy fantasy doesn't translate into the grounds for an investigation.

The thing to remember about republicans? They're authoritarians at heart.

This is ridiculous.

He is the president of the United States. If he thinks Sessions is doing a bad job, fire him. If he isn’t going to fire him then meet with him, tell him what to fix and don’t attack him on Twitter.

Stop acting like a freaking victim and just be the president

Trump never takes personal responsibility for any negative outcome. Its *always* someone else's fault.

What Trump is doing is laying the batshit groundwork for blaming Sessions for the bad Republican performance at midterms.

Its baseless nonsense. But his base will need a scapegoat. And Trump certainly won't take any blame. So it has to be someone else.

When Comey said he had additional emails he was going to investigate on Halloween, just before the 2016 election, HE undoubtedly influenced the outcome of that election. Strozk was off Mueller's team immediately after his texts were revealed. Brenner is no longer the Director of the CIA. He is a private citizen. Why should he be investigated? And none of those folks were spying on a presidential candidate for the purpose of affecting the outcome of an election. To say so betrays an ignorance of the facts and the mandatory the investigation.

My relatives in Alabama will be thrilled when Trumps statement about Jeff Sessions is released to the public.
"Sessions is a traitor , mentally retarded, this Dumb Southerner could not even be a one-person lawyer down in Alabama.

I realize it’s just the norm at this point for Cheeto-in-chief to make an ass out of himself on a weekly basis, but Jesus, can this clown even wrap his head around the idea of an impartial department of justice?

You can’t complain about a corrupt institution when you tell the person running that institution to do corrupt things.

I know, I’m just a fake news quoting, socialist parasite, but still......Perhaps some of you Trumpkins could ‘splain the man’s thinking to me.

Trump hits Sessions over indictments of GOP congressmen

President Donald Trump took yet another swipe at beleaguered Attorney General Jeff Sessions Monday over the recently announced federal charges against two Republican congressmen who had also been prominent and early supporters of Trump’s presidential campaign.

“Two long running, Obama era, investigations of two very popular Republican Congressmen were brought to a well publicized charge, just ahead of the Mid-Terms, by the Jeff Sessions Justice Department,” Trump tweeted.

He added, “Two easy wins now in doubt because there is not enough time,” before delivering what appeared to be a sarcastic compliment to his top law enforcement official.

“Good job Jeff,” Trump wrote.

No, I'm demanding he go after the obviously corrupt FBI and DOJ officials who have broken the law, regardless of whether they are political enemies or not. Sessions recuses himself from going after ANY Democrat despite plenty of incriminating evidence. Stop trying to put words in my mouth.

Trump can't comprehend the idea of anyone being apolitical - of them just doing there jobs professionally.

Like most dictators he can only conceive of personal and political loyalties - you're either for him or against him.

The idea that people in our government are sworn to uphold the Constitution and to execute the duties of their office is beyond his comprehension.

It's also the root of why America is and always has been such a great country.

He has a 5 year old's understanding of the Presidency and of America.

Trump will never consider America to be great until he is an absolute dictator - and that will never happen.
